Supermen/women saving the world

How do you recognise a Superhero?

When I met the members of the fam-

ous Committee on Gender Equality for

the first time, I would not have guessed

their secret identity. Teambuilding

however soon revealed Arianne's,

Christina's, Nadine's, Michaels, Lukas',

Viktoria's, Erdem's, Larissa's, Carla's,

Max's, Batuhan's and Benedikt's hidden

abilities when our exceptional Chair

Kati asked us to practise using our cov-

er identities and to tell each other about

ourselves. These abilities only became

more apparent as we continued with

tasks like acting out the word “gender

equality”, creating a committee flag

with a twist and discussing the Abigail

game.

The next day, having spent a wonderful

evening eating, drinking, getting to

know all the Committees and having a

party at Eurovillage, FEMM planned

their detailed approach to balancing

gender equality and religious ideals.

They really impressed me with their

very broad preparation and, more than

once, with a refreshingly unusual and

new point of view. Sometimes German

words unintentionally slipped in (“We

are missing a Schrägstrich”) and added

quite a lot of fun moments to the other-

wise very determined discussion.

General Assembly unfortunately didn't

go so well for my favorite Committee.

However, exactly like with chopped off

hands from the ninja game, burns from

the hauduken-attack while playing

streetfighter or time-bombs disguised

as mask tape going off, this could not

stop FEMM and they did not give up

when their resolution was turned down.

With their experience from GA, they

have now come up with a new ambi-

tious project in fruitful cooperation

with our Project Partner representative,

Pia, and I have high hopes that this

time they will succeed.

At the end of this Forum, I really hope

that you, FEMM, enjoyed this time in

Wiesbaden as much as I did. I wish you

the very very best and hope to see you

again soon!
