Celebration of IIM Foundation day:
As a special activity Members of IIM Kharagpur Chapter celebrated the Foundation Day of Indian Institute of Metals in a candid way. An event was organized in Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur on 24th February, 2016, at 4:30 p.m.
Dr. Amitava Mitra, Chief Scientist, Business Development & Monitoring Division, CSIR-National Metallurgical Laboratory, Jamshedpur was present as the Chief Guest during this occasion. Dr. Mitra formally inaugurated the event. Detailed Report on the Foundation Day Celebration by IIM Kharagpur Chapter has been submitted to IIM HQ earlier.
AGM and Website of IIM Kharagpur Chapter AGM of IIM Kharagpur Chapter:
Annual General Meeting of IIM Kharagpur Chapter held on 12th August, 4:00 p.m. in the Dept. of MME, IIT KGP.

What we want to do tomorrow IIM KHARAGPUR CHAPTER
Series of lectures to continue during the 2015-2016 session.
Conference & Workshop: ICAMMP 2016 and Workshops on ‘Advanced Materials Processing’ and ‘Testing of Metals’. (5-7 Nov., 2016). Not directly under IIM Banner.
Providing technical support to Indian Metal Industries through teaching and research work. Focus of high quality research in view of Industrial requirement.
Major success of the Chapter IIM KHARAGPUR CHAPTER
Shri Arijit Mitra, Dual Degree student from the Dept. of Metallurgical and Materials Engg., IIT Kharagpur, has won IIM VIDYA BHARATHI PRIZE.
Prof. S.K. Roy, Department of MME, IIT Kharagpur, has been conferred the ‘Honorary Membership’ from Indian Institute of Metals.
Prof. P.K. Sen, Dept. of MME, IIT Kharagpur, is selected as the ‘Chairman, Technical Committee’ of Bureau of Energy Efficiency, Ministry of Power, Govt. of India.
Prof. G.G. Roy, HOD, Dept. of MME, IIT Kharagpur, is selected for prestigious ‘Metallurgist of The Year’ award for this year (2015), to be given by Ministry of Steel.
