Transcript of The India Center Bifold

Welcome to the India CenterIn January 2012, four years after launching an India studies program, UCF established the center, which is devoted to the study of India and U.S.-India ties. Issues for the center range from politics to culture to technology.

The center is jointly administered by the Global Perspectives Office and the Department of Political Science in the College of Sciences at UCF and advised by a board of directors.

Activities undertaken by the center include public presentations, an annual India forum and scholarly projects. Other goals include exchanges of scholars and students from India, new courses, fellowships for UCF students, sister-university relationships in India and a large, permanent India collections at the UCF Library.

The India Center has been made possible by a major gift consisting of an annual fund and an endowed fund (a multi-year, fundraising goal) totaling $10 million, both provided by The India Group, an alliance of prominent business and professional leaders.
