THE IMPOSSIBLE COLLECTION

Transcript of THE IMPOSSIBLE COLLECTION
p 1 / 7
In the end of February 2010, The Impossible Project supplied several carefully se-
lected photographers and artists worldwide with the very first batch of Impossible‘s
new Instant Film material. They were invited to find out what their talent and crea-
tivity can do with the first sample of Impossible‘s new Instant Film, to discover its
secrets, to push it over all limits and to thereby show what is possible.
The photo material herewith proudly presented is not only stunning in its unique
beauty and creativity, but it furthermore contains an historic significance. Not only
was it taken on the very first film materials leaving the factory of The Impossible
Project, but it also is the foundation of The Impossible Collection - a growing archive
of contemporary Instant Photography artworks. Referring to the famous Polaroid
Collections founded in the 1960s by Edwin Land, The Impossible Collection aims to
serve two essential goals:
1. To continuously develop the new Impossible film materials. Upon the results
and feedback of all contributing photographers, the production team will cons-
tantly adapt and fine-tune the Impossible film materials.
2. The images of The Impossible Collection will - better than any words can ever
do - show the world the new magic, the fresh flavor and taste as well as the as-
tonishing potential of the new film materials. The Impossible Collection aims
to collect and present a unique portfolio featuring the most interesting analog
photographic works of contemporary photographers and artists.
So far the following artists provided their work and carefully interpreted the new
Impossible Film Materials, building the base of The Impossible Collection:
