The Importance of Trade

Merchant

• 1. One whose occupation is the wholesale purchase and retail sale of goods for profit.

• 2. One who runs a retail business; a shopkeeper.

Trading Partner

• When merchants from different regions get together and sell each other good that aren’t produced locally

Caravan

• 2. (esp in some parts of Asia and Africa) a company of traders or other travellers journeying together, often with a train of camels, through the desert

Middleman
