ICTS Europe Systems have developed a multi-function kiosk designed for contactless passenger

processing which can be deployed rapidly to meet the current challenges faced by the aviation industry.

CHALLENGING

TIMES The current situation has hit the aviation industry to an

unprecedented degree. Airports and airlines have to face

new challenges in their airport operation: social distancing,

sanitation, health checks, documents check, security.

It is essential to adapt current airport operational processes

to cope with the new situation with a cost effective

solution that can aid a smooth recovery operation while

minimising risks.

ICTS COMPREHENSIVE CONTACTLESS SOLUTION ICTS has introduced a new product to help airlines and

airports adapt to the new situation we all find ourselves in,

the ICTS Sentinel Kiosk.

Expanding on our decades of aviation experience, we have

enhanced our existing kiosk range with newly added

features so that airlines and airports can provide

passengers with a safe, smooth, new travel experience.

The Sentinel Kiosk can be used in different deployment

modes to meet different levels of requirements:

• Checkpoint Mode

provides rapid and accurate thermal checks only

• Touchless Boarding Mode

combined thermal checks and contactless

boarding process

• Facial Recognition Mode

thermal checks combined with facial recognition

for seamless travel and boarding

The Sentinel Kiosk is modular in it’s design and can be

equipped with a wide range of peripherals such as

passport scanner, barcode reader, NFC reader, thermal

imager and facial recognition camera.

Designed to operate completely wirelessly, the kiosk uses

wi-fi and has a removeable battery allowing for an easy to

deploy and highly flexible solution. The unit is in high

demand and has been widely adopted within industries

that are responding to the new demands presented by the

current global challenges.

CHECKPOINT MODE When operating in Checkpoint Mode, the kiosk provides rapid

and highly accurate temperature readings of passengers.

• STEP 1 – IDENTIFY

An individual first identifies themselves on the

unit using their boarding pass.

• STEP 2 – MEASURE

The unit uses it’s near infra red thermal camera

to conduct a rapid, accurate and contactless

temperature check of the individual. The

results of the check are logged and can be

exported for auditing and reporting purposes.

Passengers are re-assured that measures are being taken to

ensure their safety whilst the carrier can provide proof that they

have complied with governmental requirements if required.

TOUCHLESS BOARDING MODE Touchless Boarding Mode allows a self service and touchless

boarding method passengers to be processed quickly and easily.

The process is the same as in Checkpoint mode but with the

added benefit that passengers are also boarded directly in the

airline DCS.

Should a passenger be registered with a high temperature, the

passenger would not be boarded and an alert issued.

FACIAL RECOGNITION MODE The Sentinel Kiosk can be combined with the ICTS Mobile SDK

to provide a truly, touchless and seamless boarding experience.

The ICTS Mobile SDK provides airlines the ability to scan travel

documents (both ICAO 9303 standard and non standard

documents) from within their own mobile app and includes facial

recognition enrolment functions.

In addition, the SDK is fully integrated with ICTS’s TravelDoc

service which allows airline to automate document checks (visa

requirement checks) including health related requirements,

ensuring airlines maintain full compliance with international

regulations and eliminate the potential for fines.

The SDK can be used to register passengers for biometric based

boarding using advanced facial recognition which when used in

conjunction with the Sentinel Kiosk allows passengers to board in

a completely touch free manner at the gate.
