WEST UNITY: June 7 - Ask any base-ball person... an error gives the opponent

an extra out. Extra outs mean extra op-portunities, and extra opportunities, when

capitalized upon, lead to runs... unearned

runs, but runs none the less. Thanks tove Hilltop errors, Ayersville had plenty of

those opportunities, and they took full ad-vantage of them in a 15-5 ACME League

whitewashing of their hosts on June 7.Justin Ashenfelter got the start, and

was tagged for 6 unearned runs before giv-

ing way to Nic Schieber, who was lit up for

5 runs. Zach Roehrs relieved Schieber, buthe was roughed up for 4 runs before Isaac

VanArsdalen came on to register the nalout by the K.

Roehrs had a single and a double with

2 RBIs for Hilltop, with Schieber platinga pair with a single and a triple. Quinn

Smith drove in a run with a single and adouble, and Colin Sabins added a single

battle between Chris Sands and Jeff Foks

for the majority of the race. Sands start-ed on the pole and immediately took the

lead over Terry Rushlow. Rushlow hadproblems on lap four and dropped out

of competition. Foks then began to pres-

sure Sands for the lead, looking inside andoutside. Finally, Foks was able to make

the pass on the outside with just undera handful of laps remaining. Sands never

gave up and took one last shot at Foks on

the nal lap dropping down low in the nalcorners, but it wasnt enough. Foks earned

win number six on the season with Sandsfollowing up in second.

Brogan Rehklau took the early lead inthe Best Performance Motorsports Com-

pact feature event after starting on thepole and led the rst few laps. After an

early caution for a Matt Brazeau spin, Ter-

ry Rushlow Sr. got turned around on theensuing restart and multiple cars piled in.

Rushlow was running in the top ve at thetime. Shortly after the next restart, Reh-

klau fell off the pace which turned the leadbattle over to Brandon Myers and John

Martis. The two drivers traded the lead and

some paint. In the end, it was Myers hold-ing off Martis to pick up his third feature

    win of the year.

Multiple lead changes amongst mul-tiple drivers highlighted the nal race of

the night, the Bomber B Main. Scott Ham-mer took over the early lead after starting

on the outside of the second row. Justin

Gamber had worked his way up to secondbefore slipping up high in turn one and

stopping in turn two to bring out the sec-ond caution in the race. After the restart,

Hammer led the eld into turn one and lost

it in turn two, spinning in front of the en-tire eld. Ted Hill then inherited the lead,

but Garry Domoe took over the top spot onthe following lap. Hill fought back to the

inside and contact going into turn threesent both drivers spinning which brought

out another caution. Steven Pocock thenbecame the leader again after starting on

the pole. A couple laps later Tim McNicol

took command and held off a late chargefrom Scott Robertson to take the check-

ered ag. Hammer recovered to nish thirdwith Domoe salvaging a fourth place nish
