The drought has been happen for a couple years. All the dust and dirt has been bundling up, but none thought it would be this bad.

This is the best dinner you ever made.

Yes mama it’s wonderful. Papa, how are the crops?

Not good, Ruthy. Keeps getting drier.

It keeps get drier. When will it rain again?

It’s 1932. The dust storms begin

“Honey there was a dust storm in Texas,” said Betty. “A dust storm?” asked Williey. “Are we going to move?” “No stupid, we stay hear until the end,” said Donald. “ Donald’s right, we stay until the end.” I said.

“Another dust storm, honey”, Betty said. “ I’m getting nervous.” “We should start thinking of moving.” NO, we stay here.” I said.

I was working with all of the boys when Betty called and told us there was a dust storm coming for are state. I said” It can’t be that big, were staying.” Then I saw it. It scared me to death.

It was about 250 feet tall. I ran in the house and got the kids. It was about 10 miles away. We all got in the little car. Little Annie was still asleep. Are car only goes 55mph.

The dust was getting closer. It was coming at a angle. We were going to hit it.

The dust was about 2 miles away. I said” Shove the blankets in the window.” I’m glade I brought extra food.

It finally hit. A little got in but we were o.k. It lasted three hours. We ate all the food. We still had all the money.

The rescue finally came. Betty and I decided to live in a hotel tell the storms stop. We didn’t now when we could go back.

The Dust Bowl was a very important thing. A lot of people died and more house’s were destored.

Crops: the yield of such produce for a particular season.
