Registration is now open for the StewardshipKaleidoscope event. This year's event will bein Kansas City at the Airport Hilton, March9­11. Because the event is in KansasCity this year it is particularly convenient andcost effective for our congregations to send ateam to attend. Although shared mission givinghas held steady in Heartland Presbytery andmany of our churches are actually reportingincreased tithes and offerings, many othersindicate that their mission and ministry suffersfrom insufficient funding. This event is anopportunity to gain skills to address yourcongregations issues in generosity, financialdiscipleship, stewardship, endowment buildingand faithful preaching and teaching a biblicalperspective on wealth and sharing. Saturday, February 28this the youth council's next meeting. Your church is invitedto send two representatives to the Heartland PresbyteryYouth Council. This is a great leadership developmentopportunity for youth. Ideally your church would send oneboy and one girl/one high school and one middle schoolyouth, but the youth council understands that thisdemographic may not be present in every congregation. We would like broad representation from HeartlandPresbytery. Representatives need to be recommended bytheir home session/pastor. Visitors from the Synod of the Nile, EvangelicalPresbyterian Church in Egypt ­ In March 2015 HeartlandPresbytery will host a delegation from the Synod of the Nilethe highest Presbyterian judicatory in Egypt. They will bevisiting to officiate the ordination of Amgad Megally, pastorof our Arabic Presbyterian Fellowship. The delegation willalso be visiting Chicago to ordain another of theircandidates. While travel plans are not finalized, we arelooking toward the last week of March and possibly 3 p.m.Saturday, March 28 at Grace Covenant Church, where theFellowship meets. Watch this space for final word on theday and time, but please begin planning to attend.
