II was a wonderful three days at the confluence of Ihe Madison, Jefferson, and Gallatin Rivers, west of Bozeman. Beautiful grounds, perfect weather, and plenty of would be puppy owners, willing 10 piggyback me back across lhe soggy swale. Bill Madden talked Ihe owners of historie Sacajawea Inn in Three Forks 10 serve dinner to us in their gorgeous, restorcd dinning room. Pretty

And Sunday, after evaluating MERRY MEETlNG'S ASCARI scour (a dog with greal polemial and will probably be used for breeding) and his boss. AI Canaris (they got a pnu 1IIHDT, 16 MOs old). We had a terrific time exposing the young pups. They all got to trnek and chase a pheasant. then to the puppy pond for the usual duck chase. Just great. Happy pcople, happy dop.

Katie Yantis then procecded to hil Ihe next five clay pigeons in a row. A junior at Highland Hi gh School. she was warmjng up and working on her shoo ling skills: This was her first pheasant hunl. She was wifh the rest of thc youth pheasant hunters at Sterling Wildlife Management Area last Salurday .

Prior 10 sign ing up for the hunt. each of the young hunters had completed a hunter cducation class and were now receiving shooting skills training befote going into the fie ld ...

For many of the 40 kids Ihis was their first outjng wjth a gun, a first time pheasanl hunt ar thelr first hunl. Ranging in age rrom 12 to 17 years o ld Ihi s was a learning experience for everyone. Some needed all the shotgun tralolog they could gel. a nd a few like
