GREENSBORO

ROANOKE

Our most recent branch addition in Greensboro, NC welcomes our Assistant Branch Man-ager, Ken Dawson! Ken started in the crane industry when he was only 14 years old, after school, on the weekends, and during summer. This schedule remained with Ken throughout high school and into college. He later became a full time crane operator and began his own crane company, which he ran for 10 years before moving to North Carolina. After relocating, he successfully started a branch for another crane company which he ran for 7 years. In Ken’s free time, he spends time with his wife of 25 years, Stacey and his 2 sons, Jaret and Sean. He also enjoys his time outdoors fishing, camping, and riding his Harley Davidson

Road King! Ken, we are happy to have you as a part of the team!

Greensboro would also like to welcome our Equipment Service Manager, Chris LaCombe! Chris began working in the construction industry almost 30 years ago. During that time, Chris gained experience ranging from working on equipment, to creating and organizing multiple service & parts departments. He spends his time away from work with his wife of 30 years and his two daughters. Chris enjoys building custom cars, fishing, riding four wheelers and going to Nascar races with his family. Welcome to the team Chris!

Last, but not least, we would like to welcome Chase Parker as our new Sales Representative in Greensboro! Chase began his experience with his family’s crane company where he became a crane operator,

rigger, truck driver, and gained his knowledge in sales. Chase enjoys spending time with his wonderful family, wife and three children, and chasing monster freshwater Stripers! Chase is proud to be a part of the W. O. Grubb team and we are glad to have him! Welcome aboard!

Our 25 ton Carry Deck crane on Brian Irvin’s job at Reus-ens Dam in Lynchburg, Virgin-ia. Our operator, Andrew Midkiff, is dropping steel frame work over the edge of the dam to divers waiting below.

Cory Granger operating our 165 ton Grove GMK5165 assisting with 40,000lb set on addition to their smelting process for Steel Dynamics in Roanoke, Virginia.

Our Roanoke team installed a 195,000 lb, 220 ft long bridge over the Roanoke River with our 350 ton Grove GMK6350, operated by Stephen Bruce, and our 600 ton Liebherr LTM 1500-8.1, operated by Chris Macey. The bridge was launched partially over the river using a 6 line Goldhofer platform trailer, then lifted and set with 2 cranes in a multi-step lift.

Great job to Brian Irvin for making such a huge impres-sion with new customer, Sulzer. Brian and his team responded to a major emergency with urgency and care. “This is my first experience with W. O. Grubb, and I can say that without a doubt it will not be my last!” Adam Hen-derson - Sulzer
