The Greyhound Sire Lines of the World compiled by Holger von Boehn with the data from the Greyhound Data. Four years ago we could show, with the help of the Greyhound Data, that all important sires in their direct sire line are going back to only two foundation sires. About ninty percent of all greyhounds are going back in their direct sireline to the foundation sire King Cob born 1838 http://www.greyhound-data.com/d?i=123471 The only other foundation sire is Rolla born 1803 http://www.greyhound-data.com/d?i=197260 We have to thank our users and especially the team.This worldwide help over a more than a decade made it possible that Greyhound Data is such an invaluable source of information. Outstanding is the work from Jim McCormick, he has entered the majority of the greyhounds from the 19th century.Thank you Jim. The new extended pedigree analyses from the Greyhound Data offers a new view on Greyhound breeding and helped to find a new rule: All Greyhounds of the world seem to have a magical 80% loss of ancestors in 12 generations! This magical 80% loss is true for all countries IE, UK, US and AU. It is also true for all crosses between dogs from the world and most astonishing it is as well true for about hundred years back in greyhound breeding as long as we are able prove it with an unrealiable factor that is smaller than 6%. This ancester loss from about 80% in a 12.generation pedigree, or vice versa the percentage of only 20 % different ancestors for all countries and over 100 years, proves a very strong blood relations ship between all greyhounds of the world. In the new version we show the top twenty sires from the 2005 Greyhound Data statistic for Australia, USA and Ireland together with Great Britain. We show from these 60 tops sires of the world all ancestors in their direct sire lines down to the foundation sires. We show the Ancestor Loss in 12 generation (abbreviated AL12) as long as the unreliable factor is smaller than 6 %. An unreliable factor UF of x % means, that x percent dogs are unknown.
