GOOLOOGONG PUBLIC SCHOOL NEWS Giants in the Playground
So many exciting school adventures have taken place during May this year that the children would like to share their excitement with as many people as possible.
May began with the school purchasing a fleet of pushbikes for the children to enjoy as a part of a new fitness, skills and bike awareness program. Four specialized tracks are contained in close to 1ha within the school grounds; an `observe the signs’, a time trials, an agility/slalom course and a unique BMX track.
The Giant pushbikes were purchased through Cowra Power Equipment and Motorcycles (Lindsay Caine) with addition bikes supplied by Don Percival of Canowindra.
Within a short space of time the children’s fitness, concentration and school social engagement levels has been further strengthened.
No Sleeping Lions at Our School
What do lions have to do with daily life in a primary school??
Nothing normally, but for the students, staff and some very lucky parents of Gooloogong visiting Sydney to see the stage production of The Lion King meant lions, hyenas, warthogs, elephants, giraffes and African life were high on our agenda.
The whole school enjoyed what would arguable be the most vibrant, awe inspiring life stage play production catering for all ages ever to visit Australia.
The children were amazed, dazzled, surprised, awe-struck and, at times, speechless at a truly life-changing spectacular.

Donations for Western Care Lodge
Annie Mooy from Forbes has been going through
treatment for Breast Cancer and one thing she found is
when she stayed at the Lodge they had televisions but no
dvd or blu ray players. She has decided to try and raise
money to purchase Blu-Ray players for the 22 rooms.
Through the Forbes Evening Branch of the CWA she has
put into progress her wish to supply these items. Her
notice is below:
As you know Western Care Lodge provides
accommodation for cancer patients from Central West
NSW who need treatment in Orange. Stays can be for up
to nine weeks at a time.
The 22 rooms have televisions, but no players for music,
DVDs or blu-rays.
So I'm asking around for people to donate $80 (or part
thereof) for a blu-ray player.
Donations are fully tax deductible and should be sent to:
