I'm so pleased to announce the arrival of Gabriel Joseph Jeter, who was born on Saturday, April 1st. He weighed 8 lbs, 2 oz, and was 19 inches long. He's very healthy, and Jamie is recovering well. We're so grateful for the life-shaping power of the Spirit of God, for the gift of family, and for the love and support of our church! My plan is to take the next couple of weeks to be with Jamie and Gabriel full-time, and then to be with you for worship on Easter morning. Thank you so much for your patience with me -- it's such a blessing to be able to be fully present at home, knowing that the work of the church is in the gifted hands of such amazing people -- both clergy and lay. Thank you, thank you, thank you! A special thanks to Tiffany Danna and Ellen Buck for the countless things they're doing to make it possible for me to be away, and to David Mindel, who will bring a good word from the pulpit this Sunday. My one regret this weekend was not being able to be part of the memorial service for my friend, Frank Parks. I miss you, Frank! I'm so thankful that Frank and Pat's teacher and friend, Jim Oglesby, offered to officiate the service in my absence; Jim continues to be as talented and faithful a Christian minister as you'll find anywhere on this earth. I'm also especially thankful to Sandy Hearne, Diane Hibbs, Kenny Martin, Tim Bubel, and Clynice Baker (and her wonderful team) for their help in making Frank's service so special. I thought I might share a few special remembrances from this weekend... First, I have to tell you about how it all started. Katie Coleman came to visit us on Friday night, and when she arrived, she mentioned that she was hesitant to give Jamie a hug, for fear of squeezing her belly. Well...a couples hours later, as she prepared to leave, Katie gave Jamie another big hug, and it wasn't long before Jamie realized that she was in labor. I can't think of a more special way for labor to have begun than with a hug from a cherished friend! We arrived at the hospital around 12:30 AM on Saturday, at which point we realized that it was April Fool's Day, and that no one was going to believe us when we told them the baby had been born. Contractions grew closer and stronger as the morning progressed, and the doctor arrived around 12:15 PM. One of the most spe- cial aspects of the birth for me was watching the doctor work; she would take a breath, go into her "zone," and then work with her eyes closed, completely by feel. I noticed a crucifix hanging from her neck, and was deeply aware of the presence of the Spirit of Christ in the interaction between this gifted doctor and my beautiful wife. As for Jamie...I was humbled by her strength. Don't let her sweetness fool you -- she's a rock! I thank God for her, for the miracle of woman, and for the courage, power, and grace that God has bestowed on all mothers. Gabriel entered the world at 1:05 PM to tears of gratitude and joy. I've attached a few pictures for you -- don't you think he has his mama's eyes? We love you all, and we look forward to this precious little boy growing up as part of such a loving church family! Peace and Grace, Justin, Jamie & Gabriel

Call-Em-All List

I have been updating the “Call-Em-All” phone list. If you are NOT receiving calls about funerals, programs, updates or such - PLEASE let me know. Either call the office or send me an email and let me know what phone numbers you would like to have added to the list. If I have added you to the list and you do not want to receive these notices, you may also contact me or there is an “Opt-Out” option at the end of the call.

I do apologize to anyone that has been left off of this list, I admit it slips thru the cracks when I am updating our information! This is true with the newsletter emails, also! You may add email addresses to the newsletter list at any time. Just click on the “receive newsletter” link at the bottom of our website.
