WELCOME LETTER FROM CCPS
Dear Process Safety Professional,
On behalf of the Center for Chemical Process Safety (CCPS) of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE), I am delighted to extend a warm welcome to all professionals and companies across the region and invite you to participate at the 2nd Middle East Process Safety Conference (CCPS-MEPSC). The event will be held at the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre from 09 - 11 October 2017. The conference days will feature plenary sessions and technical streams.
Based on the success of the flagship Global Congress on Process Safety, the CCPS-MEPSC event has been established to build a regional platform for those in the process safety network to gather together, to share our industry’s chemical management practices, as well as to exchange practical experience with invited experts from AIChE. These activities bring enormous benefits to the chemical industry as a whole, and to other stakeholders.
I would like to thank you all for your support and contributions, and we do hope that you will be able to join us at our forthcoming Process Safety Conference.
Yours sincerely,
Shakeel KadriExecutive Director, CCPS

CCPS-MEPSC 2015 DEMONSTRATED TREMENDOUS ADVANCES IN PROCESS SAFETY
CCPS-MEPSC 2015 HIGHLIGHTS
• The American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) and its Center for Chemical Process Safety (CCPS) organized the largest process safety conference to ever take place in the Middle East in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, on May 20-21, 2015. The conference, themed “Process Safety: Journey Towards Excellence”, drew 746 delegates from more than 100 organizations, along with 22 sponsors and exhibitors from the oil & gas, chemical, agrochemical and power industries.
• CCPS-MEPSC was executed under the leadership of the Advisory Committee Co-Chairmen, Bakheet Al Ameri, Manager-Corporate HSE Division, ADNOC, and Otis Shelton, AIChE past president, along with the strong guidance of the Technical Committee which was co-chaired by Shakeel Kadri, Executive Director, CCPS, and Mohammed Al Sayed Al Hashmi, VP-HS, ZADCO.
• Under the theme “Process Safety: Journey Towards Excellence”, the conference disseminated the latest in process safety metrics, management of change, process safety leadership and culture, mechanical integrity, lessons learned and best practices, inherently safer design, hazard identification and risk analysis, pre-startup safety review & incident management, and business continuity.
• In-depth technical workshops prior to the event delved into process safety leadership and risk based process safety. The conference also aimed to develop youth interest in process safety via its Student Program which featured exclusive speakers and Q&A sessions.
• Social programs and networking events spread across the event days gave all attendees unparalleled interactive opportunities with peers at CCPS-MEPSC.
