The fishing comprises one beat providing ample andvaried fishing for up to three rods per day.

Syndicate membership will entitle members to fish up tothree rods on a specified day every fortnight within theseason.

IntroductionThe Test Valley is one of the best-kept secrets in Hampshire,nestled between Winchester, Salisbury and the New Forest, andonly an hour’s drive from London. The area is characterised by itswonderful countryside, attractive villages, the famous River Testand bustling market towns of Andover, Stockbridge and Romsey.

The River Test is regarded as the most famous chalk stream inthe United Kingdom. Physically it is the longest, being 39 milesfrom source to estuary and flows through some beautifulcountryside from its source in the hamlet of Ashe to the sea atSouthampton.

The river is said to be the home of modern fly-fishing and it ishigh quality game fisheries that have made the River Testjustifiably famous. Its chalk water and abundance of weed areideal for salmon, trout and grayling.

SituationThe village of Kimbridge is situated beside the River Test betweenRomsey and Stockbridge, on a prime stretch of the river referredto as ‘Middle Test’. The fishery is accessed via a private road to aprivate car park.

The FisheryThe 'Ginger Beer' beat is a flagship beat of the River Test. Ithas a long history dating back to the Doomsday book. Thisproductive beat is a third of a mile in length with a medium flowrate, with interesting shallows and a bubbling top pool.

The Fishery has an equipped thatched fishing lodge andmaintained lawn area that will be available to members, easyaccess and its private location make it ideal for entertaining.Alternatively Kimbridge village has a Farm Shop andRestaurant ("Annies") and the Bear & Ragged Staff publichouse is nearby.

The FishingThe fishing is for brown trout using up–stream dry fly andnymph, salmon and sea trout can be caught but they all haveto be returned to the water. During the winter monthsmembers can also fish for grayling. Membership to the Fisherywill entitle the members to fish up to three rods per specifiedday (once every fortnight) within the season. The fishery is wellstocked and the bag limit is set at two fish per rod.

From then on syndicate members will be expected to exercisea catch and release policy.

The SeasonThe trout fishing season runs from the 3rd of April to the 31stOctober and each rod fishes one allocated day per fortnight.All the syndicate rotations are sent to members before theseason starts. Members are also able to fish their allocateddays during November for grayling.

The ManagementThe fishery is fully keepered and stocked. There are weedcutting periods through the season at which times the rivermay become un-fishable. Members will be notified of theseperiods in advance. The members contribution to themanagement costs is currently included within the annualsyndicate membership costs.

The CostSyndicate membership is charged at £7,200 + VAT for the2014/15 season. Each new syndicate membership will alsocarry a one off joining fee which is payable to the syndicate.
