2 NovemberStudents of Form 7 sell cakes and collect donations for charity. All proceeds are donated to Radiomarathonios.

3 NovemberDOE Bronze practice hike in Lythrodontas.

3 NovemberThe Adventure Club organises the charity event ‘Ποδηλατώ και ελπίΖΩ’. All proceeds are donated to ΠΑΝΣΟΦ, the Archbishop Lucas Foundation which supports handicapped children.

3 NovemberThe GCS Parents Association organises an afternoon gathering for the mothers of all Form 1 students. The event takes place in the School cafeteria.

5 NovemberDr Afrodite Elisseou gives a lecture to the students of Form 5 on the topic of abortions and how unwanted pregnancies could be prevented (one of the teen issues covered in the English lesson).

5 NovemberLower and Upper School Cross Country competition. Having excelled, the following students will represent the School in the Pancyprian Cross Country Competition organised by the Ministry of Education & Culture. Lower School winners: Hadjilouca Constantina, Avraam Sophia, Takkou Tereza, Charilaou Marios, Leonidou Panayiotis, Clark Michalis. Upper School winners: Kashiouli Nicole, Demetriou Maria, Zittis Athina, Takkos George, Platis Andreas, Yerolemou Gavriel.

6 November“All forms of nuclear power need to be banned”: debate organised by the teachers-in-charge of the Science Club.

6-7 NovemberStudents of Forms 2 Yellow and 2 Orange take part in the European Maths Challenge 2012, an online mathematics competition that is held to unite, encourage and inspire students across Europe to enjoy mathematics and learning.

8 NovemberThe Forms 4 and 7 Geography classes visit the Tersefanou Water Treatment Plant, where students learn how water reaches the plant from the Kouris Dam and how it is subsequently treated and sent to households for domestic use.

10 NovemberThe Play-Act Club travels to the village of Arsos for an overnight stay. The trip includes a tour around the village, a visit to Apostle Philip Church, the Arsos Museum and a stroll through the nature trail. The following day is a full morning of rehearsals. The students are accompanied by their teachers Ms Frangesca Pieri and Ms Vasso Koukounidou.

12-16 November The Science Department organises a trip to Brussels and Amsterdam, providing the students with a unique opportunity to experience different cultures and gain knowledge on various scientific topics. The trip includes visits to the Atomium monument and the museum of Natural Science in Brussels as well as a visit to the Amsterdam University College (AUC) and NEMO science centre in Amsterdam.

14 NovemberUnder the auspices of the NGO Hope for Children, fifteen GCS Lower and Upper School students participate in an anti-bullying advertisement shot in Cyprus. The advertisement will be aired in Cyprus and the United States of America.

17 NovemberHaving been selected by the teachers-in-charge, GCS Debate Club members represent the School in the MEDIMUN 2013 workshop held in Nicosia.

20 November Asvestas Markos, Christofides Sotos and Avraam Sophia represent the School in an interschool tennis tournament. Marcos and Sotos win Silver Medals.

20 NovemberThe members of the Science Club visit the Ais Ambelis Winery in Kalo Chorio.

20 NovemberThe Careers Department organises a lecture on studying in the USA (admission requirements, application procedure and deadlines) by the Fulbright Commission.

22 NovemberThe Volunteers Club organises the event “Volunteerism – active participation for all generations”.

23 NovemberThe Economics Department organises a movie night for all Upper School students at the GCS Cafeteria. The students watch “Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps”.

23-24 NovemberDOE Bronze qualifying hike through the Macheras forest.

26 NovemberRepresentatives of Green-Dot Cyprus give a presentation on recycling to the students of 2 Blue and 2 Yellow. The students join Green Team which aims at providing people with important information concerning environmental issues.

26 NovemberSchool Christmas decoration by students of Form 4.

27 NovemberThe Current Affairs Club organises a talk and presentation on the Uprising of Polytechnio as experienced by two Cypriot students in 1973. Guest Speakers: Ms Christina Valanidou and Mr Thasos Christofides.

10 OctoberThe following students excel in the Pancyprian Biathlon competition held in Larnaca: Takkos George Gold Medal, Savvides Alexandros Silver Medal and Takkou Teressa Bronze Medal. The GCS is ranked the second best school in the competition.

25 OctoberThe following students excel in an interschool swimming

27 NovemberThe parents of Form 3 students attend a presentation on the IGCSE subject choices offered by the School and the selection procedure to be followed. The event is organised by the School Management and the Careers Department.

28 NovemberThe GCS Sports Department organises the Annual 3-on-3 Interschool Basketball Tournament for students of private schools in Nicosia. GCS Achievements: The GCS Boys’ Team (Zavos George, Grundl Stephanos, Hadjikyriakos Petros, Michaelides Damianos): Gold Medal, MVP Boy: Zavos George.

28 November‘Menu Problems’ organised by the Maths Club.

28 NovemberThe GCS Volunteers Club, in cooperation with Europa Donna Cyprus, organises a fund-raising bazaar on the School premises.

29 NovemberThe parents of Form 5 students attend a presentation on the GCE A-level subject choices offered by the School and the selection procedure to be followed. The event is organised by the School Management and the Careers Department.

30 NovemberThe Careers Department arranges for a presentation by the Cyprus Network of the Institution of Engineering and Technology on the Engineering profession.

30 NovemberThe Student Council organises a School Party at Toy, for the students of all forms.

30 NovemberDOE Bronze qualifying hike through the Macheras forest.
