Move over, The Bachelor: TV’sfirst gay dating show is due thisfall on Logo.

Finding Prince Charming, host-ed by Lance Bass, will feature acast of gay men in a contest thatincludes 13 suitors housed to-gether, vying for the aection ofwhat the cable network describesas one of the nation’s most eligi-ble gay men.

The premise is familiar: Con-testants are hoping for a roman-tic connection and, maybe, true

love. The suitors will be eliminat-ed one by one until the heart-throb chooses the “winner” for apotentially exclusive relationship. His identity has not been re-vealed, nor has Logo set a pre-miere date for the series.

But Finding Prince Charmingcomes amid growing awarenessof the diversity deficiencies ofABC’s The Bachelor and TheBachelorette, and it follows a new batch of knocko shows thatrespond to those concerns.

VH1’s Dating Naked (Wednes-days, 9 ET/PT) has its first black main dater in the currentthird season, and WEtv’s MatchMade in Heaven (Thursdays,

10 ET/PT) focuses on black contestants vying for the atten-tion of former NFL player Stevie Baggs and features actressSherri Shepherd as a “Sherri godmother.”

The new season of Lifetime’sUnREAL (Mondays, 10 ET/PT), ascripted drama set behind thescenes at the fictional Everlasting, includes a black suitor as part ofits major story line.

Still, Finding Prince Charmingappears to be a good fit for Viacom-owned Logo, best knownfor another competition series,RuPaul’s Drag Race.

“Logo has a long history of showcasing LGBTQ-focused stories with memorable charac-ters that transcend pop culture,”Pamela Post, chief of original pro-gramming for Logo, said in astatement.

“Finding Prince Charming willtake viewers on a whirlwind journey through modern love andrelationships in a way that onlyLogo can do.”

Brian Graden, a former pro-gramming chief at Logo andMTV, is producing the series.
