Music has been at the heart of life at Jesus since the College’s foundation in 1496. Uniquely in Cambridge, the College maintains two choirs. The all-male Chapel Choir can trace its roots back several centuries, and consists of male Choral Scholars together with boy Choristers drawn from local schools. The mixed-voice College Choir was founded upon the admission of women to the College, and is made up of around thirty Choral Scholars. Together, they make up the Choir of Jesus College, Cambridge. In addition to regular Chapel services, the Choirs maintain a busy schedule of concerts, recordings and international tours.

Through the generosity of Friends and Patrons, the Choir are able to provide free instrumental lessons for Choristers to enrich their education, benefit the community through outreach in local schools and undertake major musical projects such as performing Elgar’s The Dream of Gerontius in Ely Cathedral. By becoming a Friend of Jesus College Choir you can help us continue to provide a unique experience for young singers and to share the gift of music both now and in the future.
