It is an exciting time for the Abqaiq Community, with lots of international events going on. With the recent International Dance Festival that was quite a hit with the crowds, the Boy Scouts with their explorative SciTech trip, and FOLKS with their amazing art and craft sessions, the last month has been fun to say the least.

Abqaiq Spotlight

The Abqaiq Spotlight team has

been working on a reviewed edition

of the famous fairy tale, Beauty and

the Beast. Whoever is expecting the

classic fairy tale, or a show only for

children, will certainly be

disappointed because it is going to

be a proper show. Children and

adults both will certainly fall in love

with it.

The show is not a mere

reproduction of the classic fairy tale,

but is a complete reconsidered

version from a both musical and

theatrical writing angle. The choice of

the Rock version recalls a period of

changes regarding a social and

human growth. The electric guitar

represents the positive excellence

catharsis: the sublime suffering,

which flows into the art and becomes

the tool to recuperate an identity that

has been hidden for a long time

The music breaks down the

loneliness of the character and

becomes the instrument not only of

the catharsis, but also of the

communication, the key that opens

the doors to understanding others.

profound essence of the story

In this way, the profound essence

of the story, the inside trip, which

develops on two sides, is highlighted

in two different ways: The Beast

overcomes the selfish and egocentric

sides, the development of the ability

to be united with each other. From

mental openness, the ability to look

at the other, and the ability to

perceive the diversity from self as

something that is not negative. To

provide others with an additional

opportunity, an opportunity to

rediscover themselves.

If one mirrors himself into

themselves in a different way, in a

better way, if they have the

opportunity to discover their hidden

potentialities, they also have the

chance to develop, to improve, and

to discover their real self.

prologue we find the Enchantress

character, which represents the

double, the extremes: short-tall,

beautiful-ugly, young-old, dark-shine,

appearance-substance, and life-

death.

It does not need to be misled by

appearance, because often the

beauty of the soul is hidden in the

profundity. To light up the long way,

which drives to the discovering of the

inside world comprehension, respect,

and tolerance are necessary.

Why does the charmer change the

prince into a Beast?

To come back to the origins,

facing the instincts, the fears, and the

fragility, the individual can overcome

his own limits, break the wall of the

appearance and recuperate the

substance, the crystal beauty of the

generous human being, and the most

pure face of humanity.

Abqaiq Boy Cub Scouts Club

a thrilling, educational, explorative trip

for the cub scouts by Rinnie Nelson photos by Rinnie Nelson

An exciting day unfolded for the

Abqaiq Boy Cub Scouts Club

(ABCSC) on Saturday, October 7,

when over 40 Cub Scouts and their

families, along with their trusted Den

Leaders, ventured out of the Abqaiq

Community for their first-ever field

trip to the SciTech Technology Center

in Al-Khobar.

a mesmerizing scientific experience

In their various Dens, the boys

explored the many scientific sections

of SciTech, including the Earth and

Space Hall, the Hall of Strange

Science, and Technical Creativity Hall.

For many families, it was their first

time at the center, and for those who

had visited before, there were many

new things to discover. The boys had

The field trip, however, was more

than just a thrilling exploration of all

the scientific halls SciTech had to

offer. Every cub scout had specific

activities to complete during his visit

including a Scavenger hunt! With the

help of their Den Leaders and

accompanying family members, the

cub scouts learned many new things

in a hands-on, interactive

environment. This was not only

beneficial from an educational point

of view, but it also assisted them in

achieving specific learning goals every

It was an adventurous day indeed

with many Cub Scout families stating

they would be back again to the
