CALL TO WORSHIP — Philippians 2:5-11 Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. OUR HISTORIC FAITH: HEIDELBERG CATECHISM, LORD’S DAY 11 Q29. Why is the Son of God called "Jesus," meaning "savior"? A. Because he saves us from our sins. Salvation cannot be found in anyone else; it is futile to look for any salvation elsewhere. Matt. 1:21; Heb. 7:25; Isa. 43:11; John 15:5; Acts 4:11-12; 1 Tim. 2:5

SCRIPTURE READING – James 4:1-10 (ESV) What causes quarrels and what causes fights among you? Is it not this, that your passions are at war within you? You desire and do not have, so you murder. You covet and cannot obtain, so you fight and quarrel. You do not have, because you do not ask. You ask and do not receive, because you ask wrongly, to spend it on your passions. You adulterous people! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.
