THE FOUR HORSEMEN OF REVELATION

There are numerous thoughts and commentaries regarding the four horses of Revelat ion 6. The Book i tself , Revelat ion, means to reveal or an unveil ing. It is writ ten for those who study the text to understand without confusion. Thus those with ears to hear and eyes to see would f ind understanding and knowledge in the text. One does not need high forms of education to understand the word of God. What one does need is a relat ionship with God. You may have a close fr iend that you have spent t ime with. You often know what your fr iend is going to do in a si tuation prior to them doing i t or perhaps the same with a son or daughter. Why, because you know them. To understand God’s word you f irst must get acquainted with God. It truly was not meant for al l to know but for al l to understand who study the text and seek God. Few commentaries are in total agreement and some are total ly false teachings that Paul warned us about. It is not my intention to say this is so, or that is so. It is my intention to plant a seed. Everything else is between you and the Holy Spiri t . The Revelat ion of Jesus Christ as shown to John. THE FOUR HORSES Prior to seeing the release of the Four Horses, (The f irst four of the seven seals) John saw the following vision: And I (John) saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book writ ten within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals. And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof? And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon. And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon. And one of the elders sai th unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tr ibe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof. (Rev. 5: 1-5 KJV)

Who steps up that is the only one worthy? It is Jesus. No one else was found worthy to open the seals or to even look thereon furthermore who else could go to the right hand of the almighty “I AM”. This is extremely important to understand because in Revelat ion 6, i t is Jesus who opens the seven seals. This is not to say Jesus is behind what is to take place only that he al lows Satin and ungodly men to behave as they choose. Remember the Book of Job, where God al lowed Satin to basical ly do as he chose with Job but not ki l l him. Regarding the four horses, you wil l see how God al lows evi l to unfold however uses evi l to bring forth and fulf i l l his overal l plan. The f irst 4 seals in Revelat ion 6 are about 4 unique horses. To help us understand lets go to the Old Testament. In many ways most of Revelat ion can be found in the Old Testament prophecy thus lets see what we can f ind regarding horses/spiri ts . And I (Zechariah) turned, and l i f ted up mine eyes, and looked, and, behold, there came four chariots out from between two mountains; and the mountains were mountains of brass. In the f irst chariot were red horses; and in the second chariot black horses; and in the third chariot white horses; and in the fourth chariot gris led and bay horses. Then I answered and said unto the angel that talked with me, What are these, my Lord? And the angel answered and said unto me, These are the four spiri ts of the heavens, which go forth from standing before the Lord of al l the earth. The black horses which are therein go forth into the north country; and the white go forth after them; and the grisled go forth toward the south country. And the bay went forth, and sought to go that they might walk to and fro through the earth: and I said, Get you hence, walk to and fro through the earth. So they walked to and fro through the earth. Then cried he upon me, and spake unto me, saying, Behold, these that go toward the north country have quieted my spiri t in the north country (Zech 6: 1-8 KJV) The Bible has made i t clear that a horse can be symbolic of a spiri t as stated above (These are the four spiri ts of the heavens which go forth from standing before the Lord of al l the earth) . Thus the 4 horses of Revelat ion 6 could represent a type of

spiri t . Do not forget that the black horse goes to the north country for we wil l see this lat ter in our study. Prior to start ing this study regarding the term the “The Four Horsemen” we need to clarify what a horse represents from a Biblical perspective. Zech 6: 1-8, tel ls us a horse is a type of spiri t , however a biblical symbolic horse also represents power. In biblical t imes a horse equaled power. Did Jesus ride into town on a horse? No, because a horse represents earthly power. Often in the Bible and in this case a horse is synonymous with power, a lot of power. It st i l l is today. Have you ever been around some gear heads and hearing talk as; how many horses is she, 454 pushing 600 horses, stock 327 with 300 horse, etc. If you haven’t stop in at one of the local car shows in your area this summer. This is common talk. HORSEPOWER! Where does the word come from? Prior the combustion and steam engine that’s what power was. Horses! This is where many have gotten confused. Referring to the f irst verses of Revelat ion 6 as “The Four Horsemen” is some what misleading. It ’s about POWER, Spiri tual Power. Four specif ic forms of power. Prior to continuation we need to verify what has been stated above. Forces of War: Throughout the course of Biblical history, horses were the mounts of kings, conquerors, princes and soldiers. Riding a horse implied war, doom and victory. Men of peace did not r ide horses but rode donkeys or drove oxen. Horses were such a symbol of army strength in Bible t imes God charged the Israeli te Kings not to keep many horses. The Lord did not want the Israeli tes to trust in their resources of power, but he wanted them to rely on Himself for deliverance and victory from their enemies. Ps 20: 7 (NIV) Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God. Dt 17: 16a (NIV) The king, moreover, must not acquire great numbers of horses for himself . Ps 33: 17 (NIV) A horse is a vain hope for deliverance; despite al l i ts great strength i t cannot save.

Isa 31: 1 (NIV) Woe to those who go down to Egypt for help, who rely on horses, who trust in the mult i tude of their chariots and in the great strength of their horsemen, but do not look to the Holy One of Israel , or seek help from the Lord. Horses were etched into the Hebraic mindset early on as representing the worldly power of Egypt and i ts armies. There are many examples in the Bible where a horse represents power. Hopefully at this point we can move away from the idea of horsemen and focus on the symbolism of the horse. This symbolism (horse) as we found in the Old Testament represents POWER, also a type of Spiri t , which can lead to forms of government, conquerors, famine, pest i lence, death and war. If we start the study with symbolical meanings of the text we should continue throughout the study with symbolism and not take things l i teral ly. Most al l prophecy is symbolical . John was in prison physical ly when he recorded what was shown to him that resulted with the book of Revelat ion. John probably did not understand what the Four Horses of Revelat ion were. John simply recorded what was shown to him. We are given characterist ics of each horse, thus al lowing us to verify and discern the probabil i ty of our assumptions. Each horse/POWER, must f i t i ts characterist ics. We cannot go off on a tangent thinking we have an explanation for one, but not the other. Very much l ike a puzzle, al l pieces must f i t or i t is not complete or, possibly not correct. Our Fathers Word often teaches with opposites, l ight verses dark etc. We might also uti l ize this thought process when we continue this study. Ezekiel 14: 12-23 is also helpful when studying Revelat ion chapter 6 for i t s tates: God speaking (when a land sins against me by acting fai thlessly, and I stretch out my hand against i t , and break i ts staff of bread and send famine upon it , and cut off from it man and beast. Verse 21: How much more when I send upon Jerusalem my four sore acts of judgment.

Are the four sore acts of judgment synonymous with the four horses of Revelat ion 6? Maybe, we should also be knowledgeable regarding anytime God stretches out his arm or hand i t usually is referring to Jesus. Jesus is God’s r ight hand prophetical ly thus matching Revelat ion 6 when Jesus opens the seals. Many rel igious sectors wil l not be able to accept the prophecy regarding the white horse in Revelation 6. However we must remember prior to going forward in this study that the Pharisees in Jesus t ime were very rel igious. They read the Bible daily however Jesus cal led them on the carpet many t imes. Jesus stated that a tax collector would enter into the kingdom of heaven before some of the rel igious Pharisees would. Jesus and the Apostles warned us continually throughout the New Testament regarding false teachings. Look at the 7 churches noted in Revelat ion, what Jesus found against them often pertained to false teachings. In Revelat ion chapter 2: 9 i t clearly states there wil l be tr ibulat ion even in the church. We know from history that rel igious sectors have persecuted the spiri tual church sense i ts inception, (Jesus t ime). Mill ions have died in the name of rel igion. The inquisi t ion kil led mil l ions of people in the name of rel igion. Do not read over what Jesus stated in the f irst verses of Revelat ion (what must soon take place) these things were to soon take place prior his return. Thus we should be able to see prophecy unfolding as stated (soon) after Jesus made this statement. If we are in fact in the end of days we should be able to see the signs. There are numerous books about the end t imes and the world coming to an end. Be very careful when reading such teachings. If i ts not mentioned in the Old Testament i ts probably not true. The best tool for understanding prophecy is the Bible i tself . Luke 17: 26-30 And as i t was in the days of Noah so shall i t be also in the days of the Son of man. 27 They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, unti l the day

that Noah entered into the ark, and the f lood came and destroyed them all . 28 Likewise also as i t was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought they sold, they planted, they builded; 29 But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained f ire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all . 30 Even thus shall i t be in the day when the Son of man is revealed. People wil l be l iving their l ives just as they did the day before and the day before and the day before right up unti l the return of Jesus. Just as they did in the days of Noah and Lot, they l ived the same as any other day right up to when the rain and f ire fel l from heaven. Verse (29) above brings this forth by stat ing “ the same day”. However, when HE does come back, You’l l know it ! No mistaken i t , missing out, over sleeping, etc. I highly doubt that HE wil l be the hippie Jesus (peace love dove) that some might be thinking of. Jesus is coming back to take back what is r ightful ly His. He wil l crush the Serpents head that now is in control of this world. Get ready for Kick Butt l ike you have never seen before. Ephesians 6:12, For we wrest le not against f lesh and blood but against principali t ies against powers against the rulers of the darkness of this world against spiri tual wickedness in high places. We need to f ind a bow and a crown on i ts head. This verse specif ical ly stated male? Male dominance? He rides out to win many batt les and gain victory. I t became the color worn by priests during mass, the color worn by monks of the Cistercian order, and, under Pope Pius V, a former monk of the Dominican order, It became the off icial color worn by the Pope himself . If the White Horse is Catholicism it represents the corruption in al l Christ ian Denominations, thus al igning with Mat 7: 21-23 where i t s tates many wil l say! Mat 7: 21-23, is very clear “Only those who actually do the wil l of my Father in heaven wil l enter .” Thus i t real ly does not matter i f you are Catholic or any other Christ ian Denomination. The Bible is clear, “only those who actually do the wil l of my Father”, the word actually brings forth that some wil l look as i f they are doing the work of the Father, but actually are not. Mao Zedong was the leader of the Chinese Party from 1935 unti l his death in 1976. Chairman Mao, as he became known to generations of admiring Western left ists , is arguably the greatest mass murderer in history, ecl ipsing even the murderous Joseph Stal in in this regard. Some 70 mil l ion Chinese, along with countless Tibetans, Mongolians, Manchus, Koreans, Hmong, Uyghurs, and other nationali t ies, perished at his hands during his long and brutal reign. JESUS BREAKS THE 3 RD SEAL OF THE SEVEN When the Lamb broke the third seal , I heard the third l iving being say, “Come!” I looked up and saw black horse, and i ts r ider was holding a pair of scales in his hand. And I heard a voice from among the four l iving beings say, “A loaf of wheat bread or three loaves of barley wil l cost a day’s pay. And don’t waste the olive oil and wine. Rev 6: 5-6 (NLT) And when he had opened the third seal , I heard the third beast say, Come and see. And I beheld, and lo a black horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand. And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and (see) thou hurt not the oil and wine. Rev 6: 5-6 (KJV) We know from the Old Testament that a horse represents POWER, thus we are looking for a worldwide power. The power needs to be associated with the color black. We are looking for inflated prices for three loaves of barley wil l cost a day’s pay. We are looking for scales and measures. The power should not hurt the oil and wine. We are looking for a great power. Symbolical ly associated with the color black. Scales and measures possibly world trade? A one minded spiri t , my way or the highway. We need to look for inflated prices. Welcoming to Christ ians (not hurting the oil or wine) Global power that is different from the f irst two. Take yourself to the heaven’s looking down on earth. Do not stand in the trees looking for the forest . To help us identify the Black Horse, we looked for the opposite of Communism, our Father uti l ized opposites in the Bible often as a teaching tool. Planting verses uprooting, Life verses death, Kil l ing verses healing and so forth.

CAPITALISM THE OPPOSITE OF COMMUNISM

In our study i t was very apparent that Capital ism is considered an opposite for Communism. Most al l our research put Capital ism on a pedestal when compared to Communism. However this is not our intent, for we are attempting to identify i f Capital ism could coincide with the Black Horse in Revelat ion. With a small amount of research you wil l be able to come to the same conclusion, that Capital ism is the opposite of Communism. We looked at what our Father’s Word said in the Old Testament about the scale to pinpoint i ts meaning: Your scales and weights must be accurate. Your containers for measuring dry materials or l iquids must be accurate. I am the lord your God who brought you out of the land of Egypt. Lev 19: 36 (NLT) You must use accurate scales when you weigh out merchandise. (Deu 25: 13) The LORD detests the use of dishonest scales, but he delights in accurate weights. (Pro 11: 1) The LORD demands accurate scales and balances; he sets the standards for fairness. (Pro 16: 11) The LORD detests double standards; he is not pleased by dishonest scales. (Pro 20: 23) Use only honest weights and scales and honest measures, both dry and l iquid. (Eze 45: 10) But no, the people are l ike crafty merchants sel l ing from dishonest scales—they love to cheat. (Hsa 12: 7) How can I tolerate your merchants who use dishonest scales and weights? (Mic 6: 11)

You can’t wait for the Sabbath day to be over and the rel igious fest ivals to end so you can get back to cheating the helpless. You measure out grain with dishonest measures and cheat the buyer with dishonest scales. (Amo 8: 5)

THREE LOAVES OF BARLEY WILL COST A DAY’S PAY

A dollar today can buy only one sixth of what i t could buy in 1971. In 1967, future Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan warned that leaving the gold standard would leave Americans vulnerable to forces that would devalue everything they own. Compared to the White and Red Horse the Black Horse is much more elusive. Many think that the debt of the USA has past the point of rescue. Once the dollar collapses the door wil l be opened for the Black Horse to raise i ts ugly head. It ’s already being talked about on the world stage. The problem with a one world monetary system is who would regulate i t? Although we can now see how the dollar has been signif icantly de-valued upon its collapse “three loaves of barely wil l cost a days pay” or “you can not buy or sel l .”

HOLDING A PAIR OF SCALES

DOUBLE STANDARDS AND DISHONEST SCALES

Although some business transactions are considered legal from the government view, the question remains i f our Heavenly Father approves of them. Why does the cost of gas real ly jump 35 cents in 30 days? Some banks can pay their tel lers simply by the late charges they take from their customers. Have you ever heard the words “to big to fai l” is this fair? There are television channels total ly focused on “American Greed”. The amortizat ion? You buy something, a house for example for $100,000 on a 30 year amortizat ion at 7 % interest . At the end of the f irst 10 years you st i l l owe $85,800. You have only paid off $14,200. That is r ight, you st i l l owe $85,800.00 after 10 years. How can a country be in debt in the amounts of 17 tr i l l ion dollars? Who is gett ing this interest payment? How can this possibly ever be paid for? Who really is the winner in the wars that have been fought? The banks? Every t ime you turn around i t seems another Bernie Madoff pops up. Many of us have lost thousands of dollars in the stock market/401K? We always hear of the losers, why don’t we hear about the winners, the money didn’t disappear. It

ended up in someone’s pocket. We not only have the Bernie Madoff’s but we have complete corporations that were total r ip-offs, (Enron as example). What’s this about bail the banks out, ah can we have them sell their cadil lac’s and airplane’s f irst? By al l means take their bonus’s away, but NO! I know of contract for deeds where $20,000 was put down on a home and when the home owner could not make the house payment the sel ler took the house back keeping the entire $20,000 put down on the home in only a matter of a few years. Then only to resel l the house again and repeat the same process and this cycle kept repeating. JESUS BREAKS THE 4TH SEAL OF THE SEVEN

When the Lamb broke the fourth seal , I heard the forth l iving being say, “Come!” I looked up and saw a horse whose color was pale green. Its r ider was named Death, and his companion was the Grave. These two were given authority over one-fourth of the earth, to ki l l , with sword and famine and disease and wild animals. (Rev 6: 7-8 NLT) When the Lamb opened the fourth seal , I heard the voice of the fourth l iving creature say, ”Come!” I looked, and there before me was a pale horse! Its r ider was named Death, and Hades was fol lowing close behind him. They were given power over a fourth of the earth to kil l by sword, famine and plague, and by the wild beasts of the earth. (Rev 6: 7-8 KJV) Prior to our study of the 4th horse we need to determine what the color of this horse actually is . Is i t pale or green or both? The Greek-word is (Chloros) which represents green. Chloros is the word in Revelat ion 6: 8 as shown above. The same word Chloros is translated green in Mark 6:39 (commanded them all to si t down by companies upon the (Chloros) green grass) . Again this word Chloros is used in Rev 8: 7, but translated as green, (a third of the trees were burnt up, and al l (Chloros) green grass was burnt up. The same thing is also found in Rev 9: 4 where Chloros is translated as green. We feel the translat ions should al l be the same. We wil l begin our study looking for a green horse and see what happens. We can only assume the translators fel t that there was no such thing as a green horse. A few translat ions state pale green however many do not. Who’s ever seen a green horse is probably what the translators were thinking. However the correct translat ion can easi ly be green as we have shown above. We know from Old Testament teachings that a horse represents POWER. We are looking for a great power that wil l have authority over one-fourth of the earth. Take note that this verse tel ls us straight out that the horse has power/authority. The One and Only God glorif ies Himself

Take the maps of each horse and overlay them on the blank map shown above. The entire world covered by 4 HORSES/POWERS. Only God could have such control? Remember early in our study we found a horse can represent judgment, and usually dramatic judgment for the sake of purif icat ion. We also understand that Jesus opened these seals 1-4. When does man turn to God? Often after a catastrophe we wil l turn to God? This real ly is not much different than what happened in the Old Testament t ime. God al lowed powers of the world to carry his people away due to their disobedience. Biblical story after biblical story shows where disobedience leads to judgment and tribulat ion, thus why would we be any different. Remember Israel of the Old Testament; the better things were the further away from God they got. Judgment after judgment came down, God was warning them and did not want to see them perish. Furthermore God choose his people for a purpose and when we start walking in our path, rather than God’s path, we should plan on being corrected. If God can get our attention to wake us up and repent and go back to him it is surely better than the second death that is spoke of in the Bible.
