Virtue: a commendable quality or trait

In Bible the word virtue has to do with moral

excellence. The need for moral excellence has never been

so important as today. It is the bedrock of

fruitfulness and fulfillment. Much of our

weakness and ineffectiveness is not as much a

faith issue but is a moral excellence issue.

Grace and peace be multiplied to you in theknowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, as

His divine power has given to us all things that

pertain to life and godliness, through theknowledge of Him who called us by glory andvirtue, by which have been given to usexceedingly great and precious promises, that

through these you may be partakers of thedivine nature, having escaped the corruptionthat is in the world through lust. 2 Pet.1:2-5

Gods NATURE is His glory and virtue.

He is excellent in All He is and does and this

excellence in its totality makes up Hischaracter.

We have been called to be a partaker of His

    Divine Nature!

There is only ONE way to partake: you must

    come to know Him=experience.

But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, toknowledge self-control, to self-controlperseverance, to perseverance godliness, togodliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherlykindness love. For if these things are yours andabound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitfulin the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. For he

who lacks these things is shortsighted, even toblindness, and has forgotten that he was cleansedfrom his old sins. 2 Pet.1:5-9

Faith alone is not enough. It takes virtue, and

then there is a natural ordered progression that

creates a foundation upon which the whole

building sits. Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to

make your call and election sure, for if you do

these things you will never stumble; for so an

entrance will be supplied to you abundantly intothe everlasting kingdom of our Lord and SaviorJesus Christ. 2 Pet.1:10-11

If you DO these things.what you do is born

    out of what you ARE.

..never fall. Is this your testimony?

We need to find out why so many failures,

The reason for so much of our trouble?

The devil? Our spouse? Our children? Our

    PRIDE

Pride goes before destruction, And a

haughty spirit before a fall. Better to be of ahumble spirit with the lowly, Than to divide

the spoil with the proud. He who heeds the

word wisely will find good, And whoever

trusts in the LORD, happy is he. Pr.16:18-20

The reason for so much of our trouble is we

    have an:

UNTEACHABLE SPIRIT Whoever loves instruction loves knowledge,

But he who hates correction is stupid.

God resists the proud, But gives grace to the
