Mutual respect goes a long way in developing human relationships (1 Samuel 18:1 ; Proverbs 18:24 ; John 15:13-15 ; 1 Timothy 4:12 ). 4) Never give into the temptation to criticize others. Instead, we need pray for them and ourselves that we might both be blessed by the Lord (Matthew 5:43-48 ). 5) When we observe a work in the Lord’s church that is being neglected, we need not be critical, but rather add our efforts to that work. If we see a needful work that is not being done, we need to organize it and get other members to help in doing the work, rather than being a critical judge (Matthew 7:1-4 ). 6) Be determined to be faithful in doing God’s will, no matter what the circumstance or situation (Matthew 7:21 ). 7) Any needed improvement, whether in our family, community, or in the church, must begin with us (1 Timothy 4:12 ; 1 Peter 3:1-7 ). 8) Make a conscious habit to diligently see the good in every member. Make a mental note of the positive points each member possesses, and encourage those good points (Hebrews 10:24 ). 9) Broaden our circle of associates in the church. Let us seek to know those members that we’ve never been closely associated with before. We do not need to limit our friendship to just a limited few (Matthew 22:39 ; Romans 12:9-10 ). Following “The 7 UP’s” and PERFORMANCE COUNTS, our series of articles on Christian Attitude, Servanthood and Talents. continues with: #3: IMPROVING OUR SPRITUAL ATTITUDES

The following are nine suggestions designed to improve our spiritual attitudes.

If we’ll make application of these suggestions, not only will we experience personal

Christian growth, but the Lord’s church will grow as well.

1) Remind ourselves that we are not perfect individuals (Romans 3:23), thus a

perfect congregation of the Lord’s church does not exist. However, with the right

spiritual attitude, we can all strive toward this goal (Philippians 3:12-15). If there

is a problem, we to examine ourselves to see if we are a part of the problem or a

part of the solution to the problem (2 Corinthians 13:5).

2) Helping those members who are spiritually weak, will help us as well in attaining

our heavenly goal (Gal. 6:1; James 5:19-20; 1 Peter 1:3-4).

3) Let us follow the golden rule (Matthew 7:12) by respecting those members who

are younger than we are, and those who are older than we are. Mutual respect goes

a long way in developing human relationships (1 Samuel 18:1; Proverbs 18:24;

John 15:13-15; 1 Timothy 4:12).

4) Never give into the temptation to criticize others. Instead, we need pray for them

and ourselves that we might both be blessed by the Lord (Matthew 5:43-48).

5) When we observe a work in the Lord’s church that is being neglected, we need

not be critical, but rather add our efforts to that work. If we see a needful work

that is not being done, we need to organize it and get other members to help in

doing the work, rather than being a critical judge (Matthew 7:1-4).

6) Be determined to be faithful in doing God’s will, no matter what the circumstance

or situation (Matthew 7:21).

7) Any needed improvement, whether in our family, community, or in the

church, must begin with us (1 Timothy 4:12; 1 Peter 3:1-7).

8) Make a conscious habit to diligently see the good in every member. Make

a mental note of the positive points each member possesses, and encourage

those good points (Hebrews 10:24).

9) Broaden our circle of associates in the church. Let us seek to know those

members that we’ve never been closely associated with before. We do not need

to limit our friendship to just a limited few (Matthew 22:39; Romans 12:9-10).
