”THE FOAM DRAGON”

A YOUNG EXPLORER SCIENTIST

Take a piece of thick sheet that measure half of the high of a half a litre plastic bottle. Draw a tail of a dragon, two arms and two legs. Lets your imagination fly!

First step

Stick with tape the tail on one side of the bottle. On the other side stick the little legs on the inferior side and the arms above them.

Cut two circles of with paper. Draw with a black crayon a dot on the circle. Stick them with glue above the tail. These are the eyes!

The second step

Fill the bottle half with vinegar. Add a two-fingers quantity of dish soap and a drop of food colouring. Shake easily the bottle to mix the ingredients. Put then the bottle in the middle of a tray or of a big plate.

The third step

Put a heaped teaspoon of sodium bicarbonate in the middle of a square tissue. Spin head and twist until they have the aspect of a bulb.

The fourth step

Introduce the twisted in the bottle so as its content would take contact with the bottle`s content. After a few minutes, from the dragon`s mouth will come out colourful foam. The dragon has spitted colourful flam's!You can use different colourings to change of the foam.

The fifth step

 1. Luaţi o bucată de hârtie groasă, ce măsoară jumătate din înălţimea

unei sticluţe de jumătate de litru de plastic. Desenaţi o codiţă de dragon, două braţe şi două picioare. Lăsaţi imaginaţia să zburde!

2. Lipiţi cu bandă codiţa de o parte a sticlei. Pe cealaltă parte lipiţi picioruşele la baza inferioară şi braţele deasupra lor. Decupaţi două cerculeţe de hârtie albă. Desenaţi cu carioca neagră câte un punctuleţ pe ele. Lipiţi-le cu lipici deasupra codiţei. Ăştia sunt ochii!

3. Umpleţi sticluţa pe jumătate cu oţet. Adăugaţi o cantitate de două degete de lichid de vase şi o picătură de colorant alimentar. Agitaţi uşor sticluţa pentru a amesteca ingredientele. Puneţi-o apoi pe mijlocul unei tăvi sau a unui vas mare întins.

4. Puneţi o linguriţă cu vârf de bicarbonat de sodiu în mijlocul unui şerveţel pătrat. Învârtiţi capetele şi răsuciţi-le, până au aspectul unui bulb.

5. Strecuraţi şerveţelul răsucit în sticlă, pentru ca şi conţinutul acestuia să ia contact cu conţinutul sticluţei. După câteva minute, din gura dragonului va ieşi spumă colorată. Dragonul a scuipat flăcări colorate!* se pot utiliza diverşi coloranţi pentru a schimba culoarea spumei
