The FLOWERPOT is situated on the edge of the Derby City Centre on the main A6 road. Amulti-storey car park is next to the venue on Chapel Street. This is open 24 hours. The Flowerpotis famed for its vast choice of real ales and is now recognised as one of the best live music venuesin the country. The capacity is 250 if standing and 150 if the show is all seated. If you are travellinga long way, please check that tickets are still available for the show. If you are travelling by bus ortrain, the main stations are approximately 20 minutes walk from the venue - just head for the DerbyCathedral and the Flowerpot is 100 yards further on up the road. Martin Barre has been the guitarist of JethroTull for 43 years, his sound and playing havingbeen a major factor in their success. Albumsales have exceeded 60 million units and theycontinue to be played worldwide, representingan important part of classic rock history.

As Jethro Tull are taking a long break fromtouring, Martin has put together a band to playthe "classic" music from the Tull catalogue. Hisband, under the title of Martin Barre's New Dayis a total commitment to give the Tull fans anda broader audience the chance to hear tracksnot performed for many years. The band in-cludes other members of Tull and top musi-cians from a similar background.

While the name may mean little (as yet) to music lovers, atleast one member of this highly respected group will be veryfamiliar. The Tex-Mex outfit is led by one of the UK's finestand best loved vocalists - Paul Young. Paul is not the onlyluminary in the seven piece band, however. Frank Zappa is one of the 20th century’s most impor-tant composers.
