NATIONAL MUSTANG DAY 2018
National Mustang Day fell on a Tuesday this year and since many of us need to work all day it seemed appropriate to
gather at a restaurant in the evening to celebrate. We had a great turn-out at The Old Spaghetti Factory at Todos Santos
Square and Karen Davis commemorated the day with a really wild-looking libation called a “Flying Pink Cloud”, or
some such thing. It was a cocktail with a giant piece of cotton candy stuck on the top of the straw!. Pretty awesome.
Most of us stuck with good old pasta and ended with a scoop of spumoni ice cream to top off our feast. It was great to
see everyone. Here are a few of the folks who made for such a fun gathering...
Adopt-A-Street falls on National Pay-It-Forward Day. How appropriate!
These folks turned out in their high-fashioned day-glow vests to make the city of Concord a cleaner place! Next event is Aug 4.

DVMA Dispatch President Message
DVMA members are enjoying events together, and putting those beautiful Mus-
tangs on the road! National Mustang Day on April 17 was a great example of
dinner and cars together. There were 19 members at one long table for dinner at
the Spaghetti Factory. The Mustangs were scattered over the Todos Santos Pla-
za area.
Note to all DVMA members – sign up for DVMA’s Mustangs Only Car Show
to be held on June 9 at Bill Brandt Ford in Brentwood. At our May meeting, we will count Mustangs whose owners are signed up in order to know if our friends can also come to this show. Members have first choice in signing up to
bring their Mustangs to this event. Sign up in the Event Book as Bill Brandt Ford and DVMA needs to know how many will be attending. Note that Rob and the dealership are providing food and prizes. DVMA will supply trophies
for a few lucky Mustang owners. –
Use MotoShow registration to sign up for two local car shows coming up. May 19 is Golden Hills Car Show
in Suisun City, and June 24 is BAMA’s Ponies & Snakes Car Show in Danville. Watch for more information
to register for Cool Concord Cars on July 10. Unfortunately the drive to Yosemite in May has been cancelled.
Planning is underway for a drive to Castle Air Museum on June 23. Members will have a private docent much
like the wonderful day at Sacramento Air Museum.
I hope to see you at our meetings and events; thank you for being part of DVMA.
Harry Davis

PAST EVENTS –
Jim Blair reported that he thoroughly enjoyed the Stangs Across the Straits annual event. There were many beautiful cars that drove the rally.
On March 25, members enjoyed two tours at the Winchester Mystery House in San Jose. Ed made great plans and the day was perfect. On the second tour, everyone had to wear hard hats because of low-lying ceilings and pipes. The docent carries keys for each door. In the basement, something hit Harry’s helmet and he thought he had ducked to avoid whatever was in the way. When he looked, there wasn’t anything there that he could have run into. Moving on, he saw blinking lights at the end of the basement tunnel. When he mentioned the lights, everyone looked and the lights were off. When Harry checked again before everyone left, the lights were back on. We need to go back to the Winchester House, a great destination for a fun day
