It was a slow and tedious ride up the 605 and onto 80. This route is slow anytime, but when you factor in the long Presi- dents Day holiday it was pretty brutal. But we were seated right away at Fentons when we got there and then the challenge was to answer the question, Do I eat lunch AND a sundae or share some of each? These are the heavy choices we are sometimes called to make. WHAT A SWEET RIDE

What a gorgeous day we had for our annual trek up to Fenton’s Ice Creamery in Vacaville! It was a slow

and tedious ride up the 605 and onto 80. This route is slow anytime, but when you factor in the long Presi-

dent’s Day holiday it was pretty brutal. But we were seated right away at Fenton’s when we got there and

then the challenge was to answer the question, “Do I eat lunch AND a sundae or share some of each?”

These are the heavy choices we are sometimes called to make. But make them we did, and then it was just

a matter of convincing our stomachs to live with our decisions! Many of us split a lunch (John and I had an

AWSOME grilled crab sandwich) and then shared one of the frozen delights that Fenton’s is famous for.

After finishing our wonderful meals we headed out with John taking us on a much more scenic route com-

ing back home out across Hwy 12, then down Hwy 160 and into Concord through Marsh Creek Rd. It was

a great day and we had a great visit with everyone at Fenton’s. Hope you’ll join us next year!

The Car Show Is Coming

June 6!

What part will you play in its success? It’s an all-Ford show this year so you can be telling all

your friends with Ford machines that there will be a spot for them on the show field. Mustangs

will be judged per MCA rules and other Fords will be participants choice. Plans are well under-

way now and the details are starting to come together. Last year we had an AWSOME showing

of DVMA members to help with that show and, once again, we need you to ENTER YOUR

CARS and SIGN UP for some same-day jobs like raffle ticket sales, parking and judging. Eve-

ryone who was at last year’s show will attest to how much fun it was, so start planning!

President Message from Harry Davis

Most discussions are concentrating on the upcoming June 6 All-Fords Car

Show that DVMA is holding at The Streets of Brentwood. It will be very ex-

citing for everyone. Register on the DVMA website using Motosho, and that

makes it easy for almost everyone. We expect to have a live band for part of

the day, and I think you will enjoy their music and energy. You can volunteer

for your favorite part, using the Event Book and/or talking with Lisi. Jason is

obtaining our insurance certificate and Anne is handling the raffle for the day.

Nicole will research plaques to be awarded. Dean and Elizabeth are donating

the use of a generator, which makes music possible.

Are you thinking of joining DVMA members at the Saturday breakfasts? It is a great time to get to know

each other and spend some quality time together. Look at the dates and try to be part of the Adopt-A-Street

program. This year the City of Concord has given us a calendar that does not necessarily include the first

Saturday of the month.

The weather has been so nice that many members are taking their Mustangs out for a spin. Do you have a

tale to tell that should be put into the monthly newsletter? We would all like to hear about your adventures.

Our monthly meetings are perfect for checking in, seeing friends, getting info, and just enjoying the DVMA

group. First Saturday breakfasts are great for starting your Saturday and month!
