kids develop. However, whenever
we say "yes" to some activity, we are necessarily saying "no" to
something else. Our challenge as
parents is to know where to say
"yes" and where to say "no" in the
brief time we have with our kids! I read an article by Jen Wilkin
entitled "How to Guard Sabbath for
Your Children" that had some
really helpful questions to ask as
we think through our participation
in youth sports (or any activity really):
1. Does it sabotage weekend
downtime or worship?
2. Does it sabotage family
dinners?
3. Does it sabotage bedtime?
4. Does it pull our family apart or push us together?
5. Is it an activity my child can
enjoy/benefit from into adult-
hood?
6. Can we afford it? Parents, how would you an-
swer some of these questions?
Obviously participation in youth
sports is a complex issue that
can't be gauged by six questions,
but we all need to take a step back and "count the cost" of our
kids' activities. Feel free to join us
Sunday @ 9:15 AM in room 218 to
discuss! —Pastor Jack
The Legacy Builders Sunday
school class is in the midst of a series on Biblical parenting. The
foundational Scripture for the
study is Psalm 127, which says
that children are like "arrows." Our
job as parents (and grandparents, leaders, etc.) is to raise our kids
up in the faith and launch them
out into the world.
This Sunday, March 1, we will
discuss the topic of youth sports.
Youth sports is a multi-billion dollar industry and how we
approach these opportunities with
our kids is a huge issue parents
have to face. Youth sports can play
a very valuable role in how our

“I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of
everyone who believes; first the Jew, then for the Gentile.” —Romans 1:16
Preschool version: “I am not ashamed of the gospel”
This is our new TREASURE SEEKERZ verse for March. We will talk about it at Sunday
School this week, as we read from Mark 8:31-38, where Jesus teaches about following
Him. These are great verses, and we pray that our children will continue to GROW as they dive into His Word!
THANK YOU to Dale Smalley and the HISKIDZ RINGERS, who did a wonderful job praising God with beautiful
music this past Sunday! If your child is in 1st grade or above and would like to join the handbells, now
is a great time. They meet every Sunday from 10:10-10:25 AM in
the music room. You can email Dale @ [email protected].
I hope to see you Sunday. I love you!! —Mrs. Jackie

9:15 AM Sunday—School Schedule for Teachers/Helpers:
ALL IN THE FAMILY It is getting to be that time of year; this Sunday I will give the Sunday School classes sign up sheets where they will
have the opportunity to contribute food for the luncheon for the children following the Walk with Jesus and for Easter Sunday morning’s reception. You all always do such a wonderful job with this and many are blessed. You are also
invited to help with either or both of the occasions. If you have any questions, just call or send me a note at [email protected].
Also if you put something in the refrigerator at the church for a specific occasion, please put a note on it with your name and if
appropriate, the occasion. Periodically we go through the fridge and clean it out with a vengeance, and if your item just seems to be stored in there; it just might get thrown out.
See you Sunday! —Love, Helen
