Ky and I were playing in the thrown room, are mothers talking in hushed whisout political matters. When the doors are thrown open by a cold gust of wind. Ten dressed in black were standing in the entry way.

" Ky get Aqua out of here!" My mother commanded. He grabbed my hand and pe away from my mother. But not soon enough to shield my eyes from the arrow sino my mothers chest. Ky's mother laying at my mother's feet in a pool of blood.

"Momma!" I screamed trying to break away from Ky and run to her side. But o years older than I and much stronger. He throws me over his shoulder and flees

e room. Farther away from are mothers and farther away from the assassins. Tearsrivers down my face and eventually darkness over comes me.

AQUAI woke up with a start and wiped the tears away with the back of my hand. I

member what I was dreaming about, but I could guess it was about my mother. I y for my dear mother. I let out I sigh and climb out of bed.

" Well happy birthday to me." I muttered and shuffled groggily to the showerteenth birthday should be happy but all I can think about is that in one week ve lived 12 years without my mother. My eyes started to fill with tears.

Then the water turns boiling hot. I let out a gasp of pain and step out quickly

upid step-mom taking a shower during my time. Again. I turned off the shower, cat to touch the scorching hot water. I walked over to the sink and looked into the mly to see my hair still covered with shampoo.

"Why does she think I wake up so early. I would not want to wake up at fivented my skin to get burned off." I complained to myself.Grabbing a dixie cup I rinse the shampoo out of my hair. "My birthday just ktting better and better." I murmured to myself sarcastically. After I finish I dress ingular. Jeans, a tee-shirt, hoodie, and sneakers. My mix of emotions sent me in

ydream. But my stomach grumbles before I could completely zone out. Quieeaked down the stairs so I didn't wake my Dad. When I got to the kitchen I begok breakfast for the human garbage disposal. Then I go upstairs to wake my brothocked on his door lightly.

"What!" My brother yells." I made breakfast if you shower I will give you some." I told him then sprinted d

e steps before he could reply. I set the table and clean the dishes. My brother cown and we begin to eat breakfast in silence." Happy birthday." He said breaking the silence.

"Thanks." I mumbled and continued to shove Egos down my throat. We grab are d begin to walk to school. " I am a sophomore and still walking to school. I hope y license today." I mumbled to myself. When I got to home room I sat in my rrounded by my best friends and read Tiger's Curse. Just like I did every morfore everything changed.

"Yes Father." I answered."Your next mission is to find the princess and bring her home." He informed me

"Ky." I whispered in shock."Princess." He replied. His slate grey eyes watching me intently, raven black hai

KY"Hey. " Called a friendly voice. I turn to look at whom called out, a girl. She looks

"Ky. " She whispers. Her blue grey eyes wide with recognition. The same eyored all those years ago.

"Princess. " I said in disbelief, looking into her eyes. She was staring at me, mghtly parted in shock. I hear her whisper my name again so I stand up and bow in

her."Princess, it is a pleasure to see you again. " I stated formally. She stands there

cond, blinking her eyes. Then she wrapped her arms around me in a tight embter I snap myself out of whatever other dimension my mind was in I hug her bying not to think about how perfectly her body fit against mine.

"Whoa! Where did that thought come from. I can NOT fall in love with the princem her guard and nothing more! " I lectured myself while trying not to be drugged byent. Like rain and flowers. I shook my head trying to clear it before it goes into

"I don't really celebrate anymore..." I shrugged my shoulders knowing I don't haish. He nodded and we walked back to his father.

"Dad is it ok if I go to Aqua's house? " He asked. When he said ok we croseet. I open the front door.

"Surprise!" Everyone inside shouts. I see my step mom, dad, Esmeralda, Angede, Lila, Terrance, Taylor, and Jack. I smile at my best friends and thank them.

"Everyone this is Ky, the new neighbor. He is a senior so be nice." I announced owing smile crept onto my face.

AQUAAfter I returned home, I walked to my room and sat on my bed. My mind drifte

Ky's grey eyes. Letting out I sigh I thought of all the memories he unlockedother, the Queen of Atlantis was assassinated. Anger and sadness fill my heart. Tn in rivers down my face. Ky regrets not saving them but if he had he would be dw too. My best friend would be gone.

I wiped away my tears and collect the books downstairs. When I return tonctuary I slide them onto the shelves and let my mind wander. But all I think of is

heart fluttering like a nervous butterfly every time.I'm falling in love with Ky. The realization hits me like a semi truck. This is forbid

***The next morning I go through my usual routine. By seven Hector, Ky, and Ilking to school in silence. Once we get there we all head are different ways.

The day passes by in a flash. With my mind always drifting to Ky and his grey e

n't get any real work done. I silently curse my self for thinking about him.At the end of the day after cross country my friends walk out of the school cha

In between my lessons we work on our homework. The time goes by quicklyfore I know it were walking home so Aqua won't be late for dinner. When we arrivr door she smiles and says good night. I return home my heart beating a little fan before.

***For the next month we fallow the same routine. School, homework, train. The

Ky is teaching me how to fight and use my magic. But it's so complicated. My mat lets me control water is not like my nature what so ever. To use it you have tour emotions flow through you but I'm so use to keeping them bottled up inentually I began to practice on my own only to learn I can do everything on myt not when Ky is around. Stupid heart!

I began to create my own moves and tricks. Sometimes I mix my fighting skills

agic together. But I cannot tell Ky. If he found out he would freak. Over timedurance was been improving so I don't pass out as soon as I use my magic. I can

nger, fight faster. Maybe, just maybe I could fight off an assassin.***

It's the second Saturday in December, snow is inevitable. I get to are training fore Ky. After about five minutes of waiting I began to play with the snowflakes innd. I used the snowflakes to create random images. Little snow butterflies flew are and landed in my hair. I giggled right before I heard a deep voice behind me.

"What are you doing!" I froze, instantly recognizing it. The butterflies disapped I turned around to look at Ky.

His face was hard and commanding, just like a soldiers. But his eyes are a diffeory. They look broke and betrayed, making my heart squeezed in my chest. Suddeuldn't stand to look at him any more. I turned and flee into the woods.

"Princess!" He called after me and began to fallow. But it was to late I was out oht. He could not find me now unless I want him to. I flew up to a branch on a ta

ne and sit. Running through all the things I could have done. But he looked so hurt.I never told him I could fly or had complete control of my magic. I couldn't bec

ery moment with him is so precious and I don't want it to end. Why is it every timth him I can't control my emotions.

With a sighed I started back towards the clearing and towards Ky. When I emem the trees he came rushing over and pulls me into a tight hug. He buried his fa

y hair, tears rolling down his cheeks. Ky was crying. Strong, brave, perfect Ky ying because of me.

I hugged him back and begged." Please forgive me. I'm so sorry I should haveu." I hugged him even tighter resting my head on his chest when he kissed me s

the forehead."The dark brothers are still after you. You need to stay near me. Your life is in m

nger now that you know how to use your magic. It's time for you to return to AtlanTears were still in my eyes and I did my best to hold them back. But my resist

dn't last long because in seconds I'm sobbing into Ky's chest again at the thougving my family. Ky tried to comfort me even though we both know it won't workve up and just rocked me back and forth until my tears dry. Or freeze in this case.

***After Ky dropped me off at home I took a long hot shower but it didn't clear my m

I lied to my dad and told him Aqua's magic still needed improvement. I don't khy I did. After dinner I lay on my bed and thought about the princess. The look of hich turned to hurt as soon as she looked in my eyes.

I couldn't help but think about how perfect she felt in my arms. But she has so mlls around he heart. I would have kissed her full on right there if she didn't have tlls. They hadn't been there when we were children. She must have put them up

r mother died. Just like I did. How could she look so strong on the outside, thenok into her eyes and see how broke she is. She's trying her best but she's so ameone will break her heart.

After thinking about her for a couple of minutes I got up and crossed the road touse. I climbed up the big oak to the branch right in front of her window. Before I

me to wimp out I knocked on the glass. She lifted the blinds to see my face then ope window and let me in. After she locked the window and closes the shades she sid turns towards me.

I saw dark circles under her eyes. She is tired and pushing her self to the poihaustion. Walking across the room I turned off the light then returned to her cking her up I tucked her in. She falls asleep before her head hit the pillow. A sread across my face and I lay down next to my pearl.

***A crash woke me up. I realize I'm holding Aqua. Her eyes open, looking arou

ar. Getting up I headed for the door. My pearl follows suit and stood behind me. asked figures entered the room. Five assassins. They attack us as a big group. Tackers for me and two for her. Aqua turns and kicks one in the face with a quick pu

the others jaw. They both fall to the ground. I turned my attention to my ackers, taking out the first two was easy enough, but the third pulls out a needected it into my blood stream."Ky!" Aqua screamed in horror and rushed to my side. I lost all feeling in my bod

rkness started to over come me. The assassin picked up my pearl and drags her e room as darkness settled in.

I saw the needle pierce Ky's skin. My body froze in terror. I scream his name and try to run

e but the assassin grabs my waist injects me with what ever he gave Ky then throws me ove

oulder as my world darkens.

I hear people talking but my head hurts to much to think. I sigh and try to force my eyes open

ents from before I was drugged assault my mind. I groan and try to roll over only to see my h

ackled to the bed. I'm a prisoner. Even without pulling them I know they won't break free, Ied to do anything productive. Closing my eyes to try and regain my strength, I sigh in frustrat

y dilemma.

I feel a red hot pain on my cheek as my head snaps to the left. A whimper escaped my lip

ok up at my captor. He has blood red eyes with a scar running from his left eyebrow to his lips

He sneers. "So sleeping beauty finally decides to wake up." His voice low and ice cold sen

hiver down my spine. Of course he saw this and begins to laugh. His laugh is like an evil sci

gh without the thunder and lightning in the background.

"Nice Aqua you've been kidnapped and your still coming u with sarcastic comments." I leyself. While I'm doing this he's spilling all his plans since he figures I'm going to die anyways.

"I am the last of the dark brothers. I need an heir. One you shall provide for me. But firs

nding ceremony must be preformed. You've been asleep twelve days and missed the first date

xt is in four days and just know I fully intended to take you then."

"Married? Son? I'm sixteen way to young for this nonsense. But I've been asleep for twelve

pefully that's enough time for Ky to find me. For now I'll have to play the part of fearless chi

ybe get myself out of this mess." I put together in my head. Eventually when he stops braggi

locks the shackles around my wrist and carries me into another room. To tired to protest

I awaken to the sight of the top of a four poster bed. White curtains dangle from the sides, da

ntly with the breeze. I'm covered by a white comforter wearing only my undergarments under n

ar fills my brain withy thoughts of what William might have done.

"Don't worry I didn't do any thing." He taunts in a malicious voice from the other side o

om.

"Do something unexpected!" I commanded myself. Wearily I sit up letting the covers fall

y lap. He recoils in response his eyes the size of quarters."Do you have any close I might be aar?" I asked in a sweet voice looking at him with an innocent look. He nods with a satisfa

ile on his face as he helps me out of bed and to the dresser.

He helps me into a navy gown embroidered with snowflakes at the hem of the skirt. I thank

ickly as he leads me out of the room. Fallowing him silently through the halls I quickly reme

turns so I can find my way out again. He opens a door and locks it behind me. I look around

rary he prisoners me in an sigh. There are much worse places to be locked inside. I pick up t

o cities quietly and begin to read.

I opened my eyes to my father hunched over at the end of the bed. He shook slihe whispered. "What happened?" With a sigh I responded. "Five assassins, veryined, they drugged me and took the princess."

"They took my pearl." Is all I could think as my heart bled in my chest, knowingailed her. " I must get her back." Grabbing my sword I got up from the bed." Howve I been out?"

"About five hours." My father informs me. "We know for a fact, it was Dark Brolliam who took her. He is holding her in his castle. Council is working on battle tawe speak." I nodded and we went to conclave.

After we made plans I head back to my room in Atlantis. Its beauty no lounned me. Its beauty doesn't even come close to comparing with Aquas. I wihatever it takes to get her back. As long as I am still breathing I will find her. Alway

AQUA

Two more days until the wedding. I hoped Ky will find me in time. Williamlieved all my lies about not wanting to become queen, he believes I'm innocentgile. Now I have him right where I want him. I see Ky and his father leadingantean soldiers towards the castle.

"My dear, please step away from the window." William begged. Walking into tombrace I whispered into his chest. "Please don't let them take me."

But that is exactly what I want, I want to go back home not stuck here as Willay thing. He hugged me tighter. "I don't want to be queen." I lied.

He rocks me back and forth as he vowed. "I promise, they will never take you e."I try to hide a smile of victory.

The next day is uneventful. I don't see my captor at all. So I made a planned, aKy doesn't get to me in time.

Its my wedding day. The day every girl dreams of, yet I would do anything to keep this day

ming. I look at the beautiful dress hanging in front of me.

Feeling defeated I get myself ready for this terrible day. I showered quickly and curl my

tistically I pin up the top lair and let the bottom cascade down my back. I slip in to the silk

d proceed with my plan.

The soldiers won't make it in time. Cutting down the white curtains from the bed I quickly

ose. If Ky doesn't make it in time, I'll hang myself. Being dead will be a much better fate than gyself to a dark brother.

Williams burst through the door. There is barely enough time for me to hide the cloth behin

ck. He put a tiara on my head with a veil and dragged me out of the room. I drop the noose a

m take me to the cathedral.

When we arrive at the alter the priest begins the ceremony. I don't know a word he's sa

ough, 1:he was speaking faster than a teenage girly girl,2: he was speaking Latin. My captor s

g on my finger and kissed me on the lips.

Now don't get yourself exited or angry, it isn't very becoming of you. It was just a little pelips no French involved. But still it was definitely not the first kiss I imagined.

William picked me up and carries me to the room I awoke in when I first came here. Tossin

the bed he shackled my wrist once more.

Pulling on my restraints I hissed. "What are you doing?" Meanwhile he sits on top of be and

wn my arms. Mother in heaven above he's going to rape me! The realization hit me and I beg

ht harder as I open my mouth to scream. But he just takes it as an opportunity to stick his to

wn my esophagus. In desperation I bring up my knee and hit him where it hurts. He breaks the

d slaps me across my face. Pain erupted on my cheek as scream of pain and fear escaped mya consequence he slapped my other cheek.

I gasp as he begins trailing kisses down my neck immediately after. This guy has got to

As a last resort I blast him with wind sending him tumbling into the opposite wall. Grabb

bby pin from my hair I try to pick the lock while William tried to get up from the other side

Before I can pick the lock he is on top of me once more. He wrapped his hands around myI tried to scream. Lights begin to dance in front of me as the darkness closes in. Suddenly I

eathe again and the lights disappeared.

Turning my head I see William and Ky fighting to the death. Concentrating on my magic and

ce the blood in Williams veins to freeze. I heard a sword go through flesh and a body fall t

or. Closing my eyes I turn my head away not wanting to know who won. Wondering if Ky

ight.

The hand cuffs are unlocked but I still don't open my eyes. "Aqua?" Ky's voiced cracked li

s about to cry. I open my eyes to see his perfect grey one's looking back at me. A tear rolled d

cheek and fell onto mine. He picked me up and carried me to safety. Murmuring comforting

On the ride back to Atlantis I told Ky's father everything that happened when I was capt

hen we finally arrived Ky took me to the courtyards while his father talked to conclave.

"Thank you. " I whispered softly. He opened his mouth to reply just as a gong rang. I look ar

nfused. "What does that mean? "

Ky grabbed my elbow and began to drag me inside. "The city is under attack. "

I froze, pulled away from Ky and ran towards the temple wall. Ky yelled at me to stop, but

pt on running. Once I reached the alter of our ancestors inside the temple I began to chant in anantean.

The gist of what I said was to spare the life of me people and take mine instead. Jus

ished I heard Ky's footsteps behind me. He screamed my name as the world became dark.

I called out for Aqua as her body was incased by ancestral magic, slowly lifting her to the

blinding light forms around her. I closed my eyes and looked away. When the light dimes

uld see was fog. The gongs had stopped ringing,meaning the threat has passed. I looked up tancestors magic carrying Aqua to the ground.

"Aqua! " I repeated and caught her in my arms before she touched the ground. She murmure

me softly into my chest and snuggle against me. That was when I noticed the bottom lairs of he

s silver. She stirred softly and whispered my name again as I gently press my lips to her foreh

e mist is thick so I could only see Aqua.

Carefully I wake her up, her eyelids fluttered open showing here beautiful eyes. She smile

nked the sleep out of her eyes. "What happened? "

"I have no idea. " I confessed and she began to giggle." Princess? " Her smile quickly turne

rown."Please,don't call me that. " She pleaded, a broken look on her face. I nodded and touche

ehead to hers.

"May I please have permission? " I asked, nervous of what her reply would be.

A confused look covered her face."Permission for what? "

"Oh, screw it! " I sighed frustration and kissed her. Her lips were soft and fragile. Aqua d

ove and just when I was about to pull back and apologize she puts her arms around my neck

lled me closer. Are bodies snapped together like two magnets. Hugging her closer I deepene

s. The sound of someone coughing brought us back to the real world. My father stood in front ook of silent horror on his face. Aqua and l look at one another and burst into a fit of giggles.

"Kylando Comandors! " He bellowed in pure fury. But it only made us laugh harder.

Dark Brother William knocked Aqua to the ground. I launched myself at him, my mome
