Why Calabash?

• Grenada’s only ‘all-suite’ luxury hotel, situated on powdery white sands of the secluded L’Anse Aux Epines beach, with safe swimming and fabulous Spa at Calabash

• Voted one of the best hotels in the world and is the no. 2 hotel in the Caribbean according to TripAdvisor

• The unique service of full à la carte breakfast is an event at Calabash served on the guests’ private balcony and prepared to order by each suite’s personal maid or enjoy a private breakfast on the beach.

• Gary Rhodes has produced menus using the best island produce to create top quality dishes to suit the tastes of the most discerning visitors to Grenada.

• The Beach Club restaurant headed up by British chef Mark Banthorpe, serving lunch as well as ‘tapas bites’ throughout the day.

• Extremely friendly, long serving staff, most trained to City & Guilds International Vocation Qualification standards.

• The appeal of this beautiful Caribbean “Isle of Spice” lies not only in its fabulous beaches but in its lush tropical interior, which is great to explore.

Why Grenada?

• Grenada is the island that has it all. Dramatic scenery, tropical rain forests, waterfalls, white sand beaches, turquoise sea and some of the warmest and friendlies people you’ll ever meet.

• Grenada is known as the "Isle of Spice" because it produces and exports the second largest amount of spices in the world. Hard to believe for such a small island!

• Divers are spoilt for choice, between the healthy, flourishing coral reefs and underwater volcanoes; the countless shipwrecks or the eerily beautiful Underwater Sculpture Park.

• The historic capital of St. George’s is further evidence that this flawless island has preserved its cultural authenticity.

For full details of island activities please see page 12.

Personal viewpoint

Our love affair with Calabash has lasted for many years and is in part due to the seductiveness of the prettiest of all the Caribbean islands, Grenada, with its warm people, fabulous beaches and lush countryside. However, the appeal of this particular hotel is due to the fact that it is extremely well run by The Garbutt Family, with the focus on personal attention. Whilst Calabash is certainly a top class property, and Grenada’s best, the emphasis is on pure elegance and Caribbean informality, which is incredibly addictive. With the new branding and refurbishment that took place at the Calabash in Autumn 2015, it has brought the hotel up to another level with its amazing new infinity pool, fabulous refurbished suites and the to ‘die for’ ultra-modern bathrooms. The food at The Rhodes Restaurant and The Beach Club is simply outstanding and is complimented by the truly magical ambience. All suites are styled with a luxurious and contemporary feel, and the fabulous Spa is a must.

Wake up to the mouth-watering aroma of breakfast being personally prepared by your maid. Choose from a menu which includes a tasty full English breakfast or simply a selection of delicious tropical fruits and freshly baked bread.

* A morning stroll along Prickly Bay will aid the digestion or a swim in the sea before lounging in comfort on the beach.

* Indulge in a few hours at The Spa at Calabash – nestled on the Cliffside overlooking the beach. A range of holistic treatments are

available to pamper and de-stress the mind, body and spirit. *

If you decide to stay put at Calabash, The Beach Club is only a short way from the sun loungers. Here you can enjoy an iced cold drink before lunch, and then savour a light snack or ‘catch of the day’ from an enticing menu.

* For a more active afternoon partake in some of the watersports available from the beach –windsurfers, sunfish, Paddle Boards

and snorkelling. And as the afternoon cools a game of tennis is ideal. *

Enjoy the traditional afternoon tea which is offered complimentary and served in the lounge bar area between 3.30pm and 5pm, offering a chance to reflect on the day’s activities and enter into conversation with other guests.

* A gentle walk from your suite in time for a drink at the bar followed by a delicious dining experience at Rhodes Restaurant.
