The grand finale of Lakme Fashion Week Winter Festive 2012 opened with a gala show of dramatic looks created by Lakme makeup expert Clint Fernandes. Models flaunted combinations of elaborately done eyes with nude lips as well as red hot lips, created with the Lakme Absolute Monochrome range of makeup. What followed next were the collections by Kallol Datta 1955 (the 1955 to his name is his mother's birth year), and Pankaj and Nidhi Ahuja. After the show, Kallol confessed, "For me, doing the grand finale was very intimidating. It was a huge jump from doing regular shows. But I'll have to say that the fashion week team handheld me through most of the stages and were fantastic. Having Kareena to wear my designs was an added bonus. I've never seen her in something like what I would normally make and yet she carried it off so well." Pankaj and Nidhi said, "We've always used tons of colour in our creations, so the monochrome palette was a new challenge. It's great to see how everyone is loving this new side to us. Working on the grand finale with Kareena was a fantastic experience. We couldn't have asked for more." Head of Innovation at Lakme, Purnima Lamba was thrilled at how things turned out. "The show was brilliant, and we were thrilled to have creative and futuristic designers like Kallol Datta and Pankaj-Nidhi to interpret Lakme Monochrome on the ramp. Clint also did a stunning work on the makeup show. It was another first to enhance the intrinsic co- dependency between makeup and fashion and at the same time showcase budding talent in the glamour world. The fashion week will continue to inspire us to introduce style statements that reflect the fashion trends of the season," she said. T his year's games is not just about the grits, guts and the glory, but also to look stylish while you're at it! Olympics 2012 is unique for quite a lot of reasons indeed, but not much of it has to do with the games themselves. As the sound of London itself suggested, the Olympics were anyway set to be a glamourous and groomed affair. Here's taking a look at some of the most interesting off-the-track and field trends that are making this Olympics memorable. Interesting enough, it's all quite the trend! Brand Olympics Never before in the history of these international games have so many prominent fashion labels and designers been so involved. American brands are choosing the season to set up shop in London, Paul McCartney's daughter Stella teamed up with a sports brand to create her exclusive line of geometric designs for the British team, Ralph Lauren did it for the Americans, Giorgio Armani came up with the design for the Italians, and the Jamaican uniform was designed by Bob Marley's daughter Cedella. Though Team Great Britain wasn't too happy with McCartney's design, they also teamed up with a plethora of sponsors ranging from fashion brands to health and beauty products, each launching their own Olympic kits. Supermodels to close? Of course, every host country of the Olympics will have to encounter the long line of fitness freaks and sports enthusiasts every season. But this Olympics is proving to be quite different with the massive celebrity presence. While the month-long international sports event is blazing ahead in full steam, it is also proving to be the next most stylish thing to the London Fashion Week. The most sculpted Accord ever is bigger on the inside and smaller on the outside H onda revealed the first images of the much anticipated all-new 2013 Honda Accord Sedan and Accord Coupe, set to go on sale this fall. The most sculpted Accord ever delivers an even more spacious and luxurious passenger cabin wrapped in an upscale, sophisticated exterior designed to stand the test of time. The 2013 Accord's styling is expressive, sophisticated and premium. Starting in the front, a bold new grille imparts a distinctive and dynamic tension that complements the powerful look of the hood's multiple styling lines. A strong side character line flows through the door handles and flares upward toward the rear of the vehicle to further convey a sense of motion. A deep contour in the rocker panel firmly grounds its visual presence to the road and smartly turns upward to convey a sporty attitude. In the back, the inward slope where the fenders taper into the trunk and C- pillars is designed to convey a powerful, athletic stance from the rear. True to the spirit of Honda and every Accord before it, the ninth-generation embraces a customer focus from the inside out. Smart interior packaging allows for increased passenger and cargo space in both the sedan and the coupe, while the overall exterior lengths are noticeably shortened, contributing to a sportier driving character and easier parking. SONAM KAPOOR AND IMRAN KHAN AT THE ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS OF A MAGAZINE IN MUMBAI Pick the perfect sofa for your home H ere's what you need to keep in mind when choosing one. Sofas have always been and will be the focus of attention in living rooms, and so needs attention in both purchase and maintenance. Here's how you should go about selecting the ideal one for your home... Size wise It is important to first determine the sofa dimensions that will fit into the space in your room. Before you purchase, you must know the approximate width and length of your living room or hall. Material matters Once you know the size, select the upholstery. Choose a fabric that best suits your lifestyle - cotton, silk, wool or a blend or synthetic leather. Silk looks beautiful and classy. Cotton is perfect but is thin and linen wrinkles quickly. Chenille and synthetic leather are both soft and durable. Pattern policy If you place your sofa in a high- traffic zone in your home, or you have active kids at home, then it is wise to go in for a multi-colored pattern on the upholstery or tweeds which hide stains well. Colour coded Colour is the other important factor that is decided not only by your personal taste and preference. Style mantra You have to decide on the style - whether you'd want an ethnic one like a Rajasthani style or a modern style one in an abstract, eye-catching design. Katrina to walk for Manish at Delhi Couture Week D esigner Manish Malhotra seems to be heading to Delhi with all his Bollywood arsenal ready, it seems. After working on a fashion film with Vidyut Jamwal and Anjali Lavania for his show at the Delhi Couture Week beginning today, he has now roped in hottie Katrina Kaif to be his showstopper. Manish's show, his third in Delhi, will target his select couture clientele, and the designer, it seems, is working hard to bedazzle one and all with his clothes and contacts!

27 VALUABLE TIPS YOU SHOULD KNOW TO GETYOUR HOME SOLD FAST AND FOR TOP DOLLAR!CONTD. FROM LAST WEEK15.IT’S BETTER WITH MOREPROSPECTS.When you maximize your home’smarketability, you will most likelyattract more than one prospectivebuyer. It is much better to haveseveral buyers because they willcompete with each other; a singlebuyer will end up competing withyou.16. KEEP EMOTIONS IN CHECKDURING NEGOTIATIONS.Let go of the emotion you’veinvested in your home. Be

detached, using a business-likemanner in your negot iat ions. You’ l l def in i te ly have anadvantage over those who getcaught up emotional ly in thesituation.17. LEARN WHY YOUR BUYERIS MOTIVATED.The better you know buyers thebetter you can use the negotiationprocess to your advantage. Thisallows you to control the pace andduration of the process.18. WHAT THE BUYER CANREALLY PAY.

As soon as possible, try to learnthe amount of mor tgage the buyeris qualif ied to carry and howmuch his/her down payment is.If their offer is low, ask theirRealtor about the buyer’s abilityto pay what your home is wor th.19. WHEN THE BUYER WOULDLIKE TO CLOSE.Quite often, when buyers would“like” to close is when they needto close. Knowledge of theirdeadl ines for complet ingnegot iat ions again creates anegotiating advantage for you.20. NEVER SIGN A DEAL ON YOURNEXT HOME UNTIL YOU SELL YOURCURRENT HOMEBeware of closing on your newhome while you’re still makingmor tgage payments on the oldone or you might end upbecoming a seller who is eager(even desperate) for the first dealthat comes alon.)21. MOVING OUT BEFORE YOUSELL CAN PUT YOU AT ADISADVANTAGE.

It has been proven that it’s moredifficult to sell a home that isvacant because i t becomesforlorn looking, forgotten, nolonger an appealing sight. Buyersstar t getting the message that youhave a another home and areprobably motivated to sell. Thiscould cost you thousands ofdollars.22. DEADLINES CREATE ASERIOUS DISADVANTAGE.Don’t try to sell by a certain date. This adds unnecessary pressureand is a serious disadvatage innegotiations.23. A LOW OFFER-DON’T TAKEIT PERSONALLY.Invariably the initial offer is belowwhat both you and the buyerknows he’ll pay for your proper ty.Don’t be upset, evaluate the offierobjectively.24. TURN THAT LOW OFFERAROUNDYou can counter a low offer oreven an offer that’s just underyour asking price.
