Basics on the Endless Frontier Act

1. EFA inspired by the name of the paper resulting from FDR’s 1945 request2. Over $100B going to students and key entities across the country to carry out

seven main activities for ten key technologies.3. The seven activities are:

a. Create 10-15 regional technology hubs building from IMCP example b. Research spending at universities to advance key technologiesc. New scholarship and training programs in targeted research areas d. Development of test bed and fabrication facilitiese. Programs to accelerate tech transfer and capital attraction f. Planning and coordination with with state and local stakeholders g. Research spending in collaboration with U.S. allies and others

4. The ten technologies are a) artificial intelligence, b) high performance computing, c) quantum computing, d) advanced manufacturing, e) disaster prevention, f) advanced communications, g) biotechnology, h) advanced energy, i) cybersecurity, j) materials science
