The Emergent Tube Thoracostomy This instructional video demonstrates the performance of the emergent tube thoracostomy (Figure 1). The video was filmed at the Evanston Northwestern Healthcare Simulation Center (http://www.centerforsimulation.org/) in Evanston, Illi- nois (video available as a Data Supplement at http://www. blackwell-synergy.com/doi/abs/10.1111/j.1553-2712.2007.00038.x). The procedure was performed on the TraumaMan system (Simulab Corporation, Seattle, WA; http://www.simulab.com/). We have created a series of videos to instruct our residents on a variety of emergent life-saving procedures using a variety of high-fidelity simulators and host these videos on a Web site for the Northwestern emergency medicine residents to access and review.
