Weighing of the heart
In the hall of Ma’at Anubis appears on behalf of the deceased. He mad sure the scale was in the right position for the weighing. After the weighing had finished, Thoth recorded the results.

• Ox-hide hanging from a pole• embalming equipment, a flail, and flags
Why Jackal?
• Jackals were known to lurk around graves• Tombs were made more elaborate to keep out
jackals.
WHY WORSHIP ANUBIS?
• Egyptians worshiped Anubis to make Anubis protect the deceased from jackals.
• Egyptians also worshiped Anubis so that their bodies would not decay.
