How do I pre-register for a program? Pre-registration is required for all of our programs. Please call our office at 410-836-3050 during office hours, Monday – Friday from 9am - 2pm to sign-up.

Sunrise/Sunset Canoe Trips Saturdays from 9-11:30am or Thursdays from 5:45-8:15pm; June—mid October Ages: Strictly ages 6–adult (all minors must be accompanied by an adult ) Fee: $5/member or $8/non-member per date Join us for a guided hike, but on the water in a canoe! This program is designed to acquaint participants with the natural surroundings of Deer Creek. Exploration of the environment is enhanced by the use of canoes to travel along the creek. The emphasis, during these relaxed excursions, is on environmental education and interpretation, provided by the naturalist who accompanies the group. Must pre-register! Father’s Day Paint Evening Friday, June 9 from 6-8pm Ages: 5 and over w/adult Fee: $45/member pair; $50/non-member pair Create an owl painting on canvas to learn how to use tools such as acrylic paints, canvas, brushes, as well as painting techniques. Participants will complete a 14”x 18” acrylic painting on canvas with instruction provided throughout event. Must pre-register! Full Moon Campfire Saturday, June 10 from 7:30-9pm All ages Fee: $3/member; $5/non-member Bring the family to Eden Mill and join us for some moon gazing! Families can compete in games and each child will make their own moon. Sit and enjoy the fire under the full Strawberry Moon. Program is weather dependent. Must pre-register! Nature Discovery Camp June 19-23 from 9am-3pm Ages: 6-11 Fee: $175/member; $190/non-member Join us for a week of discovery in our park. What wildlife can be found in the creek, wetland, meadow, and on the trail? We’ll grab our backpacks, magnify lens, bug boxes, and nets as we search the park for wildlife! Must pre-register!

Nature Storybook Art– Session 1 Wednesdays, June 21, June 28, July 5, & July 12 from 10am-noon Ages: 5-10, parents do not attend Fee: $53/member or $57/non-member for the month Each activity builds new awareness about books, illustrators, and their art techniques as each illustrator is paired with a book, and presented to the child artist for an art activity of creative value. Art techniques include: drawing, painting, collage, crafting/constructing. Must pre-register! Grownup and Me Outdoor Yoga Series Wednesdays, June 21, June 28, July 5, July 12 from 5:30-6:15pm Ages: 2-5 with an adult Fee: $50/member pair; $15/member sibling; or $55/non-member pair; $20/non-member sibling for the series Join Erin Leach of Mama Bear Yoga for some outdoor movement, creativity, and FUN with your little one! These classes combine yoga poses, songs, games, and creative movement, all centered around a nature-inspired theme. Must pre-register! Outdoor Family Yoga Series Wednesdays, June 21, June 28, July 5, July 12 from 6:30-7:15pm Ages: 6 and over with an adult Fee: $50/member pair; $15/member sibling; or $55/non-member pair; $20/non-member sibling for the series Join Erin Leach of Mama Bear Yoga for some outdoor movement, creativity, and family FUN! These classes will improve strength, flexibility, and coordination, all in a scenic outdoor setting to promote connection to nature and each other. Must pre-register! Wildlife Wonders Camp June 26-30 from 9am-3pm Ages: 6-11 Fee: $175/member; $190/non-member Explore the diverse habitats around the park, and learn who and what calls these places home. From otters to eagles, there is a wild side to the wildlife at Eden Mill. Must pre-register!

Still Life Drawing: Make Your Own Field Guide Saturday, July 8 from 9-11am Ages: 13 and over Fee: $7/member or 9/non-member Are you interested in sketching from nature and learning more about your subjects? Do you want to discover where art and science meet? Join Eden Mill's summer still life drawing course to document plant and animal life outdoors with an artistic naturalist’s eye. After a brief presentation, and a short walk, spend the morning drawing from the nature found at Eden Mill. All skill levels are invited to participate! Must pre-register! Make and Take - Lettuce Box Sunday, July 9 from 11am-12pm Ages: 6 and over with adult Fee: $15/member or $18/non-member Join us this summer for a fun make and take project. All supplies are included. Create a wooden lettuce planter box. Registration closes one week prior to program date. Must pre-register! What’s Buggin’ You Camp July 10-14 from 9am-3pm Ages: 6-11 Fee: $175/member; $190/non-member Observe and collect insects as we take a closer look on what makes an insect an insect, life cycles,

macroinvertebrates and water quality, pollinators, and much more! How are insects important to different cultures? Must pre-register!

Art with Sticks and Twigs Tuesdays, July 11, July 18, or July 25 Ages: 4-10 w/adult Fee: $10/member; $11/non-member per date Participants will create unique art using natural materials such as twigs, sticks and various objects found in nature. Art activities will be supported and enhanced through the use of children’s picture books (story time), and audio and visual supplemental experiences. Must pre-register! Wee Wonders Thursdays, July 13 or July 27 from 9:30-10:45am July 13– Beautiful Birds July 27– Boxed in—Turtles Ages: 2-5 with adult Fee: $8/member; $6/member sibling; $10/non-member per date Bring your preschooler to Eden Mill to discover the wonder of nature! Programs will include nature games and activities, story, craft and a hike exploring the landscape. Must pre-register! Aquatic Adventures Camp July 17-21 from 9am-3pm Ages: 6-11 Fee: $175/member; $190/non-member Discover the world of water. Let’s scoop some goop, learn about the water cycle, and study the special animals and plants that call our watery places their home. Must pre-register! Tracks and Trails Camp July 24-28 from 9am-3pm Ages: 6-11 Fee: $175/member; $190/non-member Join us as we explore the trails at Eden Mill. We will learn about, and search for, the many signs that animals have left behind. Beaver chews, feathers, tracks, scat, you never know what we mind find! Must pre-register!

Family Adventure Treemendous Trees Friday, July 29 from 10am-12pm Ages: Up to 12 w/adult Fee: $5/member; $6/non-member A family experience at Eden Mill! We will investigate trees and all the ways they benefit us. Learn easy leaf identification using a key. Program will include nature games and activities, earth friendly craft and a hike exploring the landscape. Must pre-register!

Wild Child - Survival 101 Camp July 31 - August 4 from 9am-3pm Ages: 6-11 Fee: $175/member; $190/non-member Do you know the skills it takes to survive? Learn to identify wild useful plants, make a shelter, use a com-pass, and much more! Must pre-register!

Hunters of the Sky Camp August 7 - 11 from 9am-3pm Ages: 6-11 Fee: $175/member; $190/non-member Explore the world of flight from a tiny honey bee to a red-tailed hawk. Dissect owl pellets, learn native owl calls, examine a live honeybee up close, and much more! Must pre-register! Wee Wonders Tuesdays, August 8 or August 22 from 9:30-10:45am August 8—Terrific Trees August 22– Marvelous Monarchs Ages: 2-5 with adult Fee: $8/member; $6/member sibling; $10/non-member Bring your preschooler to Eden Mill to discover the wonder of nature! Programs will include nature games and activities, story, craft and a hike exploring the landscape. Must pre-register! Make and Take - Worm Bin Sunday, August 13 from 11am-12pm Ages: 6 and over with adult Fee: $20/member or $23/non-member Join us this summer for a fun make and take project. All supplies are included. Compost your food scraps in your worm bin. Registration closes one week prior to program date. Must pre-register! Forest Forensics Camp August 14 - 18 from 9am-3pm Ages: 6-11 Fee: $175/member; $190/non-member Travel the forests, look under the brush, high up in trees, and everywhere in between. Learn the sounds of the wildlife, search for decomposers, use science and experiments to solve the mysteries of life in the forest. Must pre-register!

The Park’s Paranormal Activity Camp August 21 - 25 from 9am-3pm Ages: 6-11 Fee: $175/member; $190/non-member Explore the haunted mill and hear stories of paranormal experiences. Listen to actual audio captured during real paranormal investigations of the mill. Take a step back in time and visit the Stansbury cemetery, if you dare! Must pre-register!

Monarch Monitoring Madness Camp August 21 - 25 from 9am-3pm Ages: 6-11 Fee: $175/member; $190/non-member Work alongside our naturalists to collect data for the Minnesota Monarch Larva Monitoring Project. We will observe the various stages of the Monarch butterfly as we wander through our bountiful milk-weed plants. Become an expert on Monarchs and learn how to start your own monitoring site at home. Must pre-register!

Insect Study for Scouts Sundays, August 20 & 27 from 1-4pm Ages: 12-17 Fee: $30/scout Requirements for earning official insect study scout badge will be completed which include: insect adaptations; effects on us and the environment; field collection and identification. Must pre-register!

Calling all 6-11 year olds! Join our naturalist for a week of fun! We will hike the trails

through various habitats, feed and work with live animals in the nature center, explore the

park, learn from the Master gardeners, play games, perform experiments, and make crafts.
