Final Training Sessions The Ladies final training sessions were the w/c 14th March.

The Men's club sessions will carry on with last one on 30th March. There will however be no session on 23rd March before the Easter weekend. There may be an informal run around that week. M1s will be training until the last game in April.

Bournemouth are looking for entries for their

mixed 7-a-side festival competition.

Chair Chat The Easter bunny brought me lots of chocolate eggs which I consumed with glee on Sunday. Saturday saw just a inter club friendly played but I was at Saracens seeing them play scintillating rugby in thrashing Exeter with their five Grand Slam winners. I was also able to watch the last part of the 20/20 game on my iPad as England beat Sri Lanka to grab a semi-final slot before watching the footballers in a thrilling 3-2 win in Berlin. What a day of sport! Midweek saw the old England turn up at Wembley, the Scot lose in Miami and a wonderful performance in Delhi. The last regular games on Saturday sees 9 games played to finish the league season although the Old Boars, Past Masters and the Mixed team still have some action later in the month. With 4 home games plenty of action to watch and I will be cheering on the Men's 2nds as they try and grab a point from Ashford. Saturday and Sunday sees the Rover Oxford colts festival and good luck to all involved whilst the U16s have a last 16 game against Indian Gym on Sunday afternoon. We have the Dinner dance and Awards evening on the 15

th – book now with Richard Hall , the Volunteers

evening on 22nd

and the junior and senior colts presentations all coming up in April. Rob

Mad Mike, Returns Again Another Marathon Effort

Fundraiser: Michael Ransome My page http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/MichaelWRansome Well, who would have thought, some five years ago, that I would now be contemplating a fourth battle with the challenge posed by those magical, sometimes murderous, 26.2 miles? But, 4 weeks after Easter Sunday, I'll be joining some 36,000 others, and hoping to raise ££s for the work of Alzheimer's Society, so greatly needed by those afflicted, and those with responsibility for their care. It's been a uncertain road this time, with injuries dating back to late 2015, compounded more recently with ITB problems, two physios, a 10 day abstinence, a very gradual return, and slow progression of times and distances. Managing 20 miles last Sunday, on route which included Great Windsor Park and Virginia Water, gave me the resolve to go ahead, though it is likely that the time on the day will slip back again beyond 5 hours. If this is a cause close to your heart, and you would be happy to support both the Society, and my determination to run, and finish, on its behalf, contributions to my on-line page would be much appreciated. Cash, cheques, and CAF vouchers have the same standing! Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor me on http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/MichaelWRansome and donations will be quickly processed and passed to the charity. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. Thank you so very much Michael, and in all my other guises.

We would like to wish all our patients a Happy Easter and hope that you stay well whilst we are away. For all those of you marathon training, you've only got another few weeks before you start to taper. For first timers don't panic when your taper starts and your body feels as if its falling apart, its normal for all sorts of weird and wonderful niggles to surface, this is the time your body gets to do all its 'repair' work to have you ready for marathon day. You may also find your mind being distracted with all sorts of fears and demons, especially have I run far enough...maybe I need to run another 20/23miles - don't fall for it, remind yourself you've trained hard and are prepared and ready for your big day. Drop us a line or give us a call and we can help you decide if it needs treating or a few more days to settle. We are available for treatments again from 1pm on Saturday 2nd April, if you book in before the 31st March we will be pleased to offer you £5 off the standard price (£40) of a treatment. Gary's Monday evening circuits at Eastcote Hockey Club recommence on Monday 4th April 2016. Sharon's yoga classes recommence at 9.30am Tuesday 5th April (Body Studio) and 6pm Friday 8th April.(United Reformed Church, Eastcote). Please call 020 8868 6997 to book appointments.

As manager of the England over 65’s who have just won European Gold at Southgate let me share with you one of our secrets, that could benefit all of us who play or have played sport. It would in fact benefit anyone with issues around back pain, arthritis, and/or lack of energy.

We have been supported by “Xenca“ for the past 4 years who have recommended two products to us and which the majority of the squads are using. I swear by them. The first is Collagen and the second Five a day + V. Both are natural products. If you have a club member in the squad talk to them about it. If interested to research or buy to try, go to www.xencahockey.com Peter Crayford England GGM Manager

Dear Parents and Players,

COLTS ANNUAL END OF SEASON PRESENTATIONS SUNDAY 10th April

(U10’s, U8’s and 6’s) It’s almost the end of the season and the younger colts have their annual presentation at the clubhouse. Please come along and make your hands sore with clapping! Seriously, it’s a great hour where the coaches, players and parents can celebrate the season and share their successes with everyone. The event is free, the clubs way of saying thank you, and finishing off the season. It will start after training at 11am and there will be a buffet followed by the presentations to the younger colts.

This event is for the U6’s, U8’s and U10 squads.

The Presentation Evening for the U12's U14's and U16's is planned for Saturday April 16

th April, more details to follow.

The London Youth Games

The Balfour Beatty London Youth Games is Europe's Largest youth sports festival. It is now a season of events taking place over 9 months including both School and Community Competitions across 30 different sports. The competitions are part of the national School Games Programme. School Competitions are organised locally by School Games Organisers, with the London finals hosted by LYG. For more information see our dedicated School Games page. Open competitions enable the most talented young people in each London borough to compete to become champions of London. Teams are organised by the sports development team in your local authority. Message from the Head Hockey Coach, Paul Loudon: Please pass this to parents, players, teachers and coaches. The Hillingdon Girls and Boys squads did very well last year by qualifying for the finals weekend at Crystal Palace. This year we are entering two hockey competitions:

Year 7 & 6 Boys and Girls will be playing in a new 6 a side competition

Year 9 and under, Boys and Girls will be playing in a 7 a side competition Training will start for both age groups from Saturday 16th April at Eastcote Hockey Club, Kings College Playing Fields, Kings College Road, Ruislip, Middlesex, HA4 7JZ. There will also be an open mixed session on a Wednesday at Brunel Sports Park, start date to be confirmed. The girl’s training will be at 10.00am and boys at 11.30am, which will continue until June, and possibly longer if the teams qualify for the finals weekend in July. It would be good for people to contact me in advance so I can plan for numbers. If you cannot make any of the initial sessions please let me know, as I need to register the players in advance, by the beginning of May. You need to put your name in the frame if you want to play. As per normal, we have an open policy regards coaching the teams, it costs nothing, all coaches are qualified and fully checked and both teams normally come from a wide range of schools and clubs. You need to live or go to school in the Hillingdon Borough and be in Year 9 or under and not be a county player to qualify. We can supply equipment but shin-guards and a mouth guard will be needed. For more info and to put your name down to get involved contact Paul Loudon 07584055966 Email [email protected] or Andy Lazarevic Email [email protected]
