INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

THE DROP SLIDE

When only the best will do...

Congratulations on your purchase of a quality MSA 4x4 Dropslide. Please follow these instructions to ensure that your new Dropslide is installed

correctly.

WARNING

• Do not use your slide until all installation instructions have been completed and full operation is understood

• Not recommended for use by minors

• Side pockets on fridge transit bags will incur damage unless closed

• The Dropslides are very tight when new. You must place at least 6kg of weight in the fridge to make it drop

Dropslide Handle must be installed prior to slide installation.

1. Using the Allen key (supplied) ensure the 8mm bolt is tight on both lever arms (fig 1.), and remove 8mm Nyloc nut and steel washer from inside of bolt.

Leave 8mm brass washer on bolt on the inside of the lever arms (fig 2.)

fig 1. fig 2.

2. Place one side of handle with 8mm bolt in mount hole on end of lever arm and then, pushing lever arms together, place other side over 8mm bolt.

** PLEASE NOTE: you will notice that the handle arms have a curve. Install the handle so that when the handle is lowered, the curve goes down as in (fig 7.)

Install steel washer and 8mm Nyloc nut and holding the 8mm bolt with the Allen key on one side, tighten the Nyloc nut (fig 6.).

DROPSLIDE INSTALLATION

1. Place slide in position on top of shelving unit no more than 110mm back from the front edge of mounting surface. This is a basic measurement guide

and will depend on your particular application.

2. Unlock slide by key lock on front face of fridge tray and press the Blue Lock Release Button and slide open approx 150mm.

3. Install 4 of the self tapping mounting screws (supplied) into the predrilled holes in the rear edge of the base frame. Recommended screws - 10 gauge x

20mm long Button Head. (supplied)

4. As an alternative to self tapping screws, nuts and bolts can be used (not included in kit).

5. Extend Slide slightly and install all other screws/bolts/fasteners starting from the rear and moving forward (holes predrilled). If slide operation is not

smooth, loosen screws slightly. This is because the screws will pull the base frame down and cause the slide runners to angle inwards. This is

particularly the case if your draw system is covered in a carpet material.

6. When all screws are in place, slide installation is complete.

7. Do Not operate or put weight on slide until all screws are fixed.

8. Lower platform slowly by pushing down firmly on rear section of fridge tray while at the same time lifting the lever arms and ensure the handle and lever

system clears any doors. This will take reasonable pressure as there is no weight on the platform.

FRIDGE INSTALLATION – DO NOT USE TURN BUCKLES TO TIE DOWN FRIDGES. 25mm TIE DOWN STRAPS ARE RECOMMENDED (supplied)

1. Slide platform out and push down - this will take some downward pressure as gas struts are designed for weight to be loaded

FOR ENGEL FRIDGES

1. Remove rubber from under fridge feet using a Phillips head screwdriver and place the rubber over matching 4 holes on platform. Place

fridge over feet and using the longer 6mm bolts, flat and spring washers supplied, insert bolts from underneath platform (see fig 8).

NOTE: These bolts are for fridge location only. 25mm tie down straps are still required.

FOR WAECO FRIDGES:

1. Holes have been provided in the platform to mount WAECO universal fixing kit. 25mm tie down straps are still required.

There are 4 x 6mm counter sunk head bolts / Nyloc Nuts and washers supplied – please install these bolts in the top surface of the tray with

the Nyloc Nut and washer on the underside. The counter sunk heads of the bolts will sit proud in the tray and the molded plastic feet of the

Waeco Fridges will sit over the head of these bolts. This is only a "Locating" system to stop the fridge from moving within the fridge tray

and it is recommended to use the included tie down straps to secure your fridge properly (fig 9).

FOR ALL OTHER FRIDGES toolboxes and generators:

1. You can use the four supplied tie down straps to secure your unit into the tray correctly using either the holes in the face and rear of the

fridge tray or the tie down bracket in the front of the fridge tray as well as the holes in the rear of the tray.

HANDLE BRACKET INSTALLATION:

Included in the kit is a left and right handle bracket (HB1), that mount to the Drop Slide arms just behind the mount point for the Drop Slide handle.

As in (fig 10.) below this is the right hand HB1 and is held in place by two bolts with spring washers, steel washers and nyloc nuts.

FITTING TIE DOWN STRAPS:

DO NOT USE TURN BUCKLES TO TIE DOWN FRIDGES. 25mm CAM BUCKLE TIE DOWN STRAPS ARE RECOMMENDED

Front Straps are fitted by either using the loops in the tie down bracket fitted as illustrated below or alternately using the holes in the front face of the

Dropslide fridge tray, (Depending on fridge or device mounted into the Dropslide). You can now install the tie-down strap bracket with 8mm nuts and bolts

supplied (fig. 11) into the front section of the Dropslide fridge tray. The bracket needs to be located with the rubber bumpers against the fridge. Tighten

8mm bolts and Nyloc Nuts.

1. Push straps through holes in fridge cradle or tie down bracket and pull up to fridge handle. Loop through handle and back down to cam buckle on tie

down. Fasten and tension down tightly

2. At rear of fridge, push straps through holes in fridge cradle and then up and over the rear handle on the fridge. Fasten through cam buckle and

tension.

POWER CORDS

Ensure power cords are tied out of way of all mechanisms. Cable ties are supplied in the Dropslide kit. Run the power cables up the back of the fridge and

cable tie to the fridge handles and then, on fridges with rear power points, loop over to the mount point of the gas strut allowing enough slack for when the

fridge tray drops. The power cable can then be run down the outside of the Dropslide frame to your power outlet.

For other fridges simply run the power cables where they will not interfere with the operation of the Dropslide or become caught and damaged in moving

parts.

OPERATION: Please Note: It is recommended that the lock on the slide is key locked while in transit.

1. Place key in lock and unlock key lock by turning anti-clockwise (handle on lock is in vertical position)

2. Unclip handle and fold all the way down; remembering the curve on the handle arms should curve downwards.

3. On the left you will notice the Blue Lock Release Button (fig 12).

4. Using your thumb, press this button down (fig 13) and Place slight downward pressure on handle while pulling slide cradle out towards yourself (DO

NOT RELEASE DOWNWARD PRESSURE). Once moving, you can release the Blue Lock Release button.

fig 13.

5. When slide is at full extension, slowly release downward pressure on handle. This allows the slide platform to drop. At the same time the handle will be

raised. Please do first operation very slowly to ensure that raising handle does not come in contact with any vehicle doors, etc

6. Platform will drop as far as the bump stops on the slide or rest on tailgate. It is now completely in the lowered position and handle can be folded to the

rear for opening of fridge lid.

7. To raise slide platform, reach up to handle and pull down towards the front. Pull down until handle stops.

8. While maintaining downward pressure on the handle, push down the Blue Lock Release button and start pushing the Fridge Tray back in. Again, once it

has started to slide back in you can release the Blue Lock Release button.

9. Push slide platform back into closed position. You will need to give the platform a good shove just before it has fully closed. This is to ensure the new

Locking Slide Runner engages into the "Locked In" position correctly.

THE DROP SLIDE

10. Ensure when raising the fridge tray that the LOCK IS IN THE UNLOCKED POSITION (If lock is in horizontal closed position when platform is pushed back,

damage to lock WILL occur to the locking tongue. When slide stops and locking runner has engaged correctly, twist key lock clockwise to lock position

(lock with key if needed). Fold handle up to the clips and push into retaining clips to secure for transport.

Note 1: Our new range of Dropslides now incorporate a "Locking Slide Runner" feature. This feature keeps the Dropslide from opening unless the Lock

Release Button is pressed even if the main key lock on the front is unlocked and open. As well as a "Lock In" feature, it also acts as a "Lock Out" feature

which stops the fridge tray from rolling back in unexpectedly.

Note 2: When Dropslide is new, tolerances on slide are tight but will loosen with use. Slide may need some upward handle pressure or placing your

hand on top of the fridge and pushing down to drop with an empty fridge.

MAINTENANCE

- Please ensure slide runners remain free from dirt, grit & water. Clean regularly & spray with Innox Plus MX5

- Please check the Dropslide tray does not have any forward or backward movement. This can cause failure of the key lock assembly.

To check and adjust, make sure the Dropslide is in the stowed and locked position. Grabbing the front of the Fridge tray, pull the tray forwards and

backwards. If there is any movement or "Clicking", then unlock the fridge tray and slide forward enough to gain access to the rear of the slide runners.

Looking at the back end of each of the slide runners you will notice a small black moulded rubber bump that, when the runner is closed, goes up against a

metal tab bent at right angles. Using a shifting spanner, slightly bend this tab forward. You must also do the same adjustment to the other runner as well.

WARRANTY

This product has a 12 month warranty from date of purchase against manufacturing faults only. This does not cover misuse, abuse or problems occurring

due to lack of maintenance.
