Box 361 Winooski, VT 05404 (802) 338-8979 tel www.dreamprogram.org Pine Meadow/John Graham Court DREAM Monthly Snapshot January 2012 Program Happenings and Highlights • Mentors returned to school from the December break with new energy and excitement for the full-time participation of the new children from John Graham Court. • Friday programming continued! • Mentors and children traveled to Camp DREAM in Fletcher, Vermont for Winter Adventure Camp! The day included broomball and exploring on the ice of Metcalf Pond, cross-country skiing, sledding, snowshoeing, snowballs and hot chocolate. One hundred and twelve (112) mentors and children participated that day from all over the state, the most ever for a Camp DREAM event. • New student co-chairs were elected for the upcoming semester. We welcome Simran Sabharwal and Brett Basarab. Participants Mentees Mentors Total: 17 Total: 19 • Females: 6 • Females: 14 • Males: 11 • Males: 5 Weekly Programming with Children • On campus for a fun Wacky Olympics in the Gifford Annex with mentors and kids! • Group activities on campus! • Activities on campus in three rotating groups – in one of the dorms – one outside doing winter activities, one cooking and one playing board games and other indoor activities and preparing the kids for WAC!
