VIS TECHNOLOGY VISION VISION, MISSION, FRAMEWORKS
PHILOSOPHY
Technology influences how we connect, think, create and learn. The ability to make
discerning use of technology is essential for lifelong learning. Not only that, but the
ability to create and modify technological tools to meet our needs is a fundamental
human pursuit. As such, technological change is constant requiring a perpetual
learning and an inquiry mindset.
VISION to inspire and enhance learning through collaboration, creativity and innovation.
Vientiane International School Weekly Newsletter
MISSION
to promote student agency in taking action and inquiry learning.
to facilitate access to new learning opportunities.
to become knowledgeable and discerning users of technology.
to create a flexible, responsive and inclusive learning environment.
to enable seamless integration throughout the learning environment.
to support intercultural understanding, global engagement and multilingualism.
to support all aspects of the Approaches to Learning.
...it is just a natural part of what goes on here… :-)
TECHNOLOGY INTEGRATION FRAMEWORKS
Frameworks provide a guide for thinking, planning and evaluating technology
integration in the learning environment. Each framework brings a unique
perspective to guide discussions, inform curriculum design, assist with acquisition
decisions, frame action research and guide professional development. The decision
about which framework(s) to apply in a given situation will depend on the goal and
purpose of the process.
The IB-specific framework is “ Agency, Information and Design (AID)” accessed
via “Teaching and Learning with Technology” on the OCC under “Cross Programme
Publications”.
More examples of frameworks Awareness, Praxis and Phronesis (APP) Digital Technology Impact Framework (DTIF) Replacement, Amplification, Transformation (RAT) Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) Technology Integration Matrix (TIM) Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) Tools, Tasks, Strategies (TTS) Substitution, Augmentation, Modification, Redefinition (SAMR)
