What’s Happening at Saint G’s?

WEDG Flips Over Fletcher’s!

On Monday, August 26 at 6 p.m., the WEDG (Women's Ecumenical Dining Group) will be going to dinner at Fletcher's Kitchen and Tap, 6101 West Main, Belleville (239-3317). Participants may flip over the burgers and appetizers, and do cartwheels over the steaks, and decadent desserts! Please call the church office (233-6320) for reservations/head count. Come for Good Fun, Good Food, and Good Conversation!

Big News!

The Spiritual Growth Commission is back up and running. A small group of us met to plan some activi-ties and events for the coming year. The first of these will be a revival of the Advent Meditation books—written by. . . You! Please be prepared to say, “Yes” if you are asked to write one of the meditations. If any-one feels called to work on this commission, please let me know! We’d love to have you. Thanks! Vicki Hall

Book Club Sings with the Nightingales

On Wednesday, August 21, the book club will be meeting at 4204 Main Street Brewing Company, in the Garden Room at 5:30 p.m. The book for discussion is The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah. Patty Malina is leading the discussion. Please RSVP to Sue Vaughn (618-593-7213) or the office (618-233-6320). New-comers are always welcome and this book is an excel-lent read!

They Who Sing Pray Twice!

The Choristers and Adult Choir resume regular rehearsals on Wednesday, September 4. At 5:30 p.m., the Choristers rehearse in the choristers' room (upstairs by the Sunday school rooms). All children in 2nd-7th grade may join. The Adult Choir rehearses at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday evenings in the chapel. New members are welcome in both groups. Liturgical Commission Pushes the Reset Button

Although Rally Day is on September 8, the Liturgical Commission will be meeting after the 10:30 a.m. Eucharist. One of the instrumental members is cur-rently out of town and the meeting had to be reset for this later date. Topics for discussion include liturgy through All Saints’ Day, ministry updates, and future planning.

Thy Kingdom Come: Global Prayer Movement

If you prayed: One time For 5 friends, Throughout the 11 days (online or using the app.) Through the Novena booklet If you joined the neighborhood walk then you united with millions, from 114 countries and 65 denominations, who formed a great stream of prayer. Special thanks to Matt Pidgeon for printing the Novena booklets. Extra booklets were shared beyond the walls of our church and were used by people in St. Michaels, O’Fallon, St. John’s, Centralia, Christ Church Cathedral, and St. Paul’s (Carondelet) in St. Louis. God has heard our prayers and God will answer them, in His time, in His way, and for His glory alone!

Prayerful participants bless the surrounding neighbor-

hood throughout the prayer walk.
