    REFLECTION PAPER ON GUTOM

    Submitted by: Camille V. Ramirez(C-Pha8)

The documentary film that our group watched was entitled Gutom by iWitness. The

documentary film was basically all about the hunger and poverty situation that our country

experiences then up to now. It showed the life of Mr. oland !arron" a father of # children who

lives in Malabon. $e ma%es a living by selling recycled sprays for fifteen pesos each. $is

average income is about &'()*(( pesos whenever he sells sprayers. +nother life shown in the

documentary film was that of +ntonio ,abillo" a father of &- children who lives near ivisoria

and ma%es a living by carrying heavy loads of goods delivered in ivisoria. Mr +ntonio once

said in the film that he actually thought of doing bad things in order for him to get through

hunger" but he was also thin%ing about his %ids. What would be of him if he gets into /ail0 These

were /ust some of the lives shown in the film. +fter watching this film" I really felt sad for the

current situations that are happening in our society today. I1ve always heard about poverty and

hunger but never really imagined that it would be this hard for those experiencing it. I in my

lifetime never had a day without food. ,eeing this film made me thin% about others" who are very

unfortunate. It made me grateful for what I have. !ut I don1t want to simply stop there2 I want to

be part of the solution to this problem. +s a student" probably what I can do is to /oin feeding

programs to be able to reach those who need this the most. I can also help in donating food for

the less fortunate. I can give in my own ways whenever I see people in the street that are hungry"

that is why I always carry biscuits with me wherever I go. This is to give food to them instead of

    giving money.
