Africa Room, Duquesne Student Union

The mission of Pure Thirst is to empower and assist communities to gain access to improved water services while teaching students that they can make a difference in the world. Grounded in Spiritan tradition, Pure Thirst utilizes a cross-disciplinary approach, allowing its student members to collaborate with each other and Duquesne faculty “coaches”. Students conduct research in their specific areas to enhance the groups understanding of water crisis. The 2016 Project aims to engage and empower a community in the Kilimanjaro region of Tanzania to participate in the implementation and ownership of new water services while educating them about the benefits of clean water. Pure Thirst will accomplish its Tanzania Water Project through its partnership with local Tanzanian Spiritans, several Rotary Clubs, and Duquesne’s Center for Engaged Teaching and Research, and Duquesne’s Division of Mission and Identity.

You are cordially invited to an evening of fine wine, heavy hors d’oeuvres, and live music to support Pure Thirst in their work to bring clean water to a community in Tanzania.

Tickets are available for $35 per person or $25 for Duquesne faculty and staff.Your ticket purchase includes two glasses of wine and complimentary refreshments.
