towards better technology that can be presented in different formats. Companies will work together to produce technology that can be more advanced to help support media in new forms.

MEDIA CONVERGENCE This is when media companies use

different formats to give them a range of advertisement. By using different platforms, the media can reach to different areas of groups of people.

SYNERGY This is where two companies or

organisations work together to produce a new product. For example if Apple want to produce a phone, they will need a SIM card for the phone to work so they will synergise with a SIM card company for example Orange.

THE DISTRIBUTION Warp Pictures is an independent

film company which means that they will have to synergise with film distributers to get films that they make into cinemas so that people can watch it.

There are separate distribution companies that are also independent and will have connections with other cinemas across the country and maybe even abroad. This is how the film companies can get their films across the seas to let other cultures experience it.

VERTICAL INTEGRATION When a company expands its

business into areas that are at different points on the same production path, such as when a manufacturer owns its supplier and/or distributor. Vertical integration can help companies reduce costs and improve efficiency by decreasing transportation expenses and other benefits. Warner Bros Studios is a good example of Vertical Integration as they can not only make films but distribute them in their own cinemas too.

message is that they make everything they need themselves. (using Vertical Integration)
