The Differences of Dialect in Lamongan; between Kalitengah and Paciran’s Language Based On Words Introduction People’s attitude toward a language are different, it is known as variety of language. People should have different ‘accent and dialect’ even though they speak in the same language, such as Javanese Language. Where ‘accent’ refers to the sound a speaker makes, and ‘dialect’ covers the word choices. The difference between one accent and dialect can be shown when we compare one speaker to another speaker in other region, and this issue also associated with the geographic distribution. (Wardaugh 2002: 43-49) distinguishes dialect into two types: regional dialect and social dialect. Regional dialect is the distinctive variety of local colorings in the language which we notice as we move from one location to another. On the other hand, social dialect refers to differences in speech associated with the various social groups or classes. Thus, regional dialects are geographically based, while social dialects originate among social groups and are related to a variety factor, the principal ones apparently being social class, religion, and ethnicity (Wardaugh, 2002:49). In this study, the author focuses more on the dialect geography which consequently relates to geography of certain place and also boundaries of three main regions. Dialect geography is the term used to describe attempts made to map the distributions of various linguistic features so as to show their geographical provenance (Wardhaugh, 2002: 45). Lamongan's Javanese dialect is interesting and unique to be analyzed because there are different sound and languages of the same word between Kalitengah's dialect and Paciran's dialects if it is compared with Javanese dictionaries.

Methodology

The location which the author chose to do a research was in Lamongan since I have been living in Kalitengah and I was school in Paciran, which could help for collect the data easier from the respondents. The regions chosen are Kalitengah and Paciran.

The first data collection phase focused on the attitudes and perceptions of the speakers and their ability to use at least one accent or dialect in Kalitengah and Paciran. Each person was asked about the way they use their accent or dialect.

Those written dialogue was given by using SMS, Facebook and direct meeting. The data also collected by using video or voice recorder to make the informants comfortable and easy to analyzed. Beside of the data collected from informants, it was also collected by browsing internet and books.
