This month has been typical of many at the Club with a wide variety of interesting events for our varied membership to enjoy.

In September we had the Wintergarden full to capacity for lunch with Her Excellency the Rt Hon. Dame Patsy Reddy GNZM QSO, her very interesting speech is on the Governor General’s website. Forty people heard about Michael Graham’s SAS missions in Africa, 40 concert goers enjoyed a pre-function before the P!nk concert; 50 women were entertained by Nicky Pellegrino and Catherine Bennetto speaking about their latest novels over chocolate and cocktails while another group of members enjoyed tasting their way through the best Scottish and NZ whiskies.

Members may be interested in where we are at with the Bankside extension. Building works on site are focused on the structure of the building. Concrete cast in-situ columns and beams are in progress up to Level 2. Installation of the large Double T pre-cast concrete flooring units has commenced on Level 1. The entire superstructure for the building is due to be completed by the end of November. The next key milestone is the building envelope which should be around Christmas. Following the weatherproofing of the building, the services and interior fit-out will commence. The project is currently on target to be ready by the middle of February. Procurement of furniture, fittings, equipment and landscaping has begun and orders have been placed for long lead time items. Keep an eye on the website for photo updates.

Christmas is not far away so I encourage you to make contact and organise your events or parties. Creating your own special event is another strength of the team at the Club.

There are some great events planned for October and November which might also make unique and interesting client entertainment.

I look forward to seeing you at the Club.
