The groom was attired in conventional black and was attended by Nick Han- sen. Several friends and relatives witnessed the ceremony after which a four course dinner was served. The young couple received many useful gifts from their friends. Miss Han- sen has lived here since childhood and has many friends. Mr. Dorsey is not so well known here, but we have learned that he is an honest and in- dustrious young man. They will make their future home in Greenfield. May the richest blessings follow them, as they start the journey of life together. Omer McWilliams of Charter Oak wa» here one day last week. A young man who came in from the Milwaukee train an3 missed the Northwestern to Denison and who was very anxious to secure a marriage license and return on the afternoon train north" was very grateful to Mr.' Parmatier who drove him to Denison in just 45 minutes. The necessary papers were secured and the young' man returned safely in ample time to m&ke the train for the desired des- { tination. j A number of young people went to Butler's vacant hotel Friday evening j and had a dance. The young ladies prepared baskets with lunches that were sold to the highest bidder. All seemed to think it a very pleasant gathering. The wives of the business 'men's association are expecting to meet next Friday evening at the home of D. J. Butlers and organize a club. The particulars will be given next week. i:. Albret Snyder has bought the Loo- VniB property and rented the same to M. M. Black, who will occupy it after March first. T. B. Lutz of Mapleton was in Charter Oak Saturday. G. F. Fiene, a very highly respect- ed citizen of Charter Oak who has been in poor health for several months is reported much worse today. A public installation of Masonic officers occurred Monday evening. Refreshments were served and a pleasant time hid by all. ^"-" v Mrs. S. M. Stouffer and little son returned to their home in. Sac City on Saturday. Mrs. M. J. McKinstry. of Ute is a guest of Mrs. J. J. McWilliams. Mr. and Mrs. F. W. Loomis and daughter Jessie left Tuesady morning for their new home in Colorado. They were joined- in Omaha by Nan- nie and Edna who had preceeded them Saturday to visit with friends there. The Loumis family is one which will be greatly missed, as they have long been one uf the most prominent fam- ilies in Charter Oak. having been re- sidents for many years. Their many friends wish thiem the greatest suc- cess in their new home. They will reside in L<jveland. Colorado where Mr. Loomis will be engaged in the grocery business. O. C. Chede&ter went to Chicago with stock Saturday. Ed. Hardy went to Colorado Tues- day where he will locate in the region of Boulder. On Sunday January 13 at high noon at the home of the bride's parents Dr, and Mrs. J. J. McWilliiams of Charter Oak occurred the marriage of Miss Nellie L; McWilliams to Ernekt L. Morgan of Sioux City. The words which made the happy couple man and wife were pronounced by Rev. E. Robbins of the M. E. church and the service was performed in the pres- ence of a few of the bride's relatives and a select few of her {girlhood friends. The service though simple was pretty and impressive. The bride being gowned in an elaborate dress of white persian lawn over pink silk, while the groom wore the convention- al lack. There were no attendants. Immediately following the ceremony a delicious four course dinner was served by the Misses Jessie and Leona McWilliams. and Miss Fanchon Bam- ford of Denison and Juanita Massie of Logan. Aside from a cold, the little one was not thought to be very sick and his death occurr- ed before medical assistance could be summoned leaving, his parents heart broken over the sad taking away but they have the glad consolation that their little one has been safelv gar- nered into the fold of the loving Jesus. The funeral services were held at the M. E. church in Defiance last Monday afternoon conducted by Rev. M. A. Gable and the remains were tenderly laid to rest in the De- fiance cemetery by the side of another little one who died two or three years ago. The Loumis family is one which will be greatly missed, as they have long been one uf the most prominent fam­ilies in Charter Oak. having been re­sidents for many years. Their many friends wish thiem the greatest suc­cess in their new home. They will reside in L<jveland. Colorado where Mr. Loomis will be engaged in the grocery business.

On Sunday January 13 at high noon at the home of the bride's parents Dr, and Mrs. J. J. McWilliiams of Charter Oak occurred the marriage of Miss Nellie L; McWilliams to Ernekt L. Morgan of Sioux City. The words which made the happy couple man and wife were pronounced by Rev. E. Robbins of the M. E. church and the service was performed in the pres­ence of a few of the bride's relatives and a select few of her {girlhood friends. The service though simple was pretty and impressive. The bride being gowned in an elaborate dress of white persian lawn over pink silk, while the groom wore the convention­al lack. There were no attendants. Immediately following the ceremony a delicious four course dinner was served by the Misses Jessie and Leona McWilliams. and Miss Fanchon Bam-ford of Denison and Juanita Massie of Logan. Nels Morris the little nine months old son of Mr. and Mrs. Nels Christ-ensen, living near Astor, died very suddenly last Sunday. Aside from a cold, the little one was not thought to be very sick and his death occurr­ed before medical assistance could be summoned leaving, his parents heart broken over the sad taking away but they have the glad consolation that their little one has been safelv gar­nered into the fold of the loving Jesus. The funeral services were held at the M. E. church in Defiance last Monday afternoon conducted by Rev. M. A. Gable and the remains were tenderly laid to rest in the De­fiance cemetery by the side of another little one who died two or three years ago. The parents have the smypathy of the community in their sad be­reavement. —Defiance Enterprise.
