- The May Picnic. At 7:30 A.M. cn Saturday about 20OTJf the members and fnenda of the M. E. Sun- day school started on an excursion on the; 2). 5 Baler. Though the morning presaged a rainy day, the weather was all that could be wished. The boat landed at Hosier's, and the crowd in the best of glee started for the picnic grounds. Everybody was well supplied with provisions, ice cream, lemonade, etc. A better place could not have been selected ior a day s en iovment. and at 3:30 P. M. when it was tue- (jested that we repair to the river, as the boat was soon expected to arrive on her re turn from the Cascades, all hands voted was a veiy short six hours ince we landed at we had three hours more to wait, yet everything went on as pleasant as a "mar r.aee bell" until 6:30, when the whistle an nounced that tlio lioat was coming. Then came the usual bustle in setting ."all aboard''. The boat was soon "nnder way headed for The Dalles. We arrived home at 8 P. M. without an accident to speak of, Of course boys will lose their hats over board; of course girls will break their paia ail handles, even if they are Sled; of course voune ladies and gentlemen will pare sua denly on a bridge when they see a train of cars coming; of coarse girls will leave their best young men and run to their papas a.i mnmmas when thr'boat lands, but there was nothing said or none to mar the happi nesa of any. and we all wisn we couia ov another such trip ere long. A vote of thanks was due the Union Pa cific for its courtesy, and. Mr. Jeff Mosier for the use of his grounds. . Asn I. Witness. Then bo clasped her with emotion. Drew tho maiden to his breast. Whispered vows of truo devotion. The old, old tale, you know the rest From his circled arms upspringins. With a tear she turned away. And her voice with sorrow ringing', ' I shall not see my bridal day. This dramatio speech broke him up badly; but when she explained that her apprehen- sions were founded on the fact of an inher- ited predisposition to consumption in her family, he calmed her fears, bought a bottle of Dr. Fieroe's Golden Medical Discovery for her. and she is now the incarnation of health. Consumption fastens its hold upon its wuue tney aro unconscious oi its approaca. Tho " Golden Medical Discovery" has cured thousands of cases of this most fatal of mala dies. day school started on an excursion onthe; 2). 5 Baler. Though the morningpresaged a rainy day, the weather was allthat could be wished. The boat landed atHosier's, and the crowd in the best of gleestarted for the picnic grounds. Everybodywas well supplied with provisions, icecream, lemonade, etc. A better placecould not have been selected ior a day s eniovment. and at 3:30 P. M. when it was tue-(jested that we repair to the river, as theboat was soon expected to arrive on her return from the Cascades, all hands votedwas a veiy short six hours ince we landed

at we had three hours more to wait, yeteverything went on as pleasant as a "marr.aee bell" until 6:30, when the whistle announced that tlio lioat was coming. Thencame the usual bustle in setting ."allaboard''. The boat was soon "nnder wayheaded for The Dalles. We arrived homeat 8 P. M. without an accident to speak of,Of course boys will lose their hats overboard; of course girls will break their paiaail handles, even if they are Sled; of coursevoune ladies and gentlemen will pare suadenly on a bridge when they see a train ofcars coming; of coarse girls will leave theirbest young men and run to their papas a.imnmmas when thr'boat lands, but therewas nothing said or none to mar the happinesa of any. and we all wisn we couiaov another such trip ere long.

A vote of thanks was due the Union Pacific for its courtesy, and. Mr. Jeff Mosierfor the use of his grounds. .

Then bo clasped her with emotion.Drew tho maiden to his breast.

Whispered vows of truo devotion. The old, old tale, you know the rest

From his circled arms upspringins. With a tear she turned away.

And her voice with sorrow ringing',' I shall not see my bridal day.

This dramatio speech broke him up badly;but when she explained that her apprehen-sions were founded on the fact of an inher-ited predisposition to consumption in herfamily, he calmed her fears, bought a bottleof Dr. Fieroe's Golden Medical Discovery forher. and she is now the incarnation of health.Consumption fastens its hold upon itswuue tney aro unconscious oi its approaca.Tho " Golden Medical Discovery" has curedthousands of cases of this most fatal of maladies. But it must bo taken before the diseaseIs too far advanced in order to be effective. If taken in time, and given a fair trial, it willcure, or money paid for-- It will borefunded.

For Weak Lnnn, Spittlns of Blood,Shortness of Brcatb, Bronchitis,Asthma, Severe Coughs, and kindredaffections, it Is an efficient remedy.
