Dear Friends and Guests,

We are so happy that you have made The Crossing Church a place for you and your family. There are many exciting things happening even in the middle of summer! We are finishing up our relationships series next weekend as Tamara and I once again get on stage together. We hope that the last few weekends have helped you strengthen the important relationships in your life. The most important relationship you can have is with Jesus Christ. If you have not taken this step we hope you will meet with one of our encouragers at the end of services today!

Sincerely,Greg and Tamara Dumas Lead Pastor

WELCOME

LIFEGROUPS

Use the following as a resource for your LifeGroup to go deeper with this week’s

message. We hope this helps you as you “do life together”.

Opener:

1. This may be one of our more difficult openers – but go for it. Remember a time

from your childhood/teenage years when you desperately needed forgiveness.

Describe the feeling of receiving that forgiveness when it finally came. Perhaps you

never did receive forgiveness – how has that affected your life?

Digging Deeper:

2. The parable Jesus reveals in Matthew Chapter 18 in verses 21-35 is one of the

most complex faith principles we find in Scripture. Read it again after you consider

together the following thoughts:

• When have I been each of the characters in the story?

• What is Jesus’ point? To seek forgiveness or to give forgiveness?

• What about not going into debt (relationally or otherwise) in the first place?

• Finally – to what extent do you understand Jesus’ plain statement in verse 35?

Application:

3. If you understand this parable to mean that forgiveness is a hallmark in the life of

the believer – what is stopping you? You may hope that we did not end with this

common application, but is there any other? “Who do you need to forgive? Who do

you need to seek for forgiveness?” Pray and then do.
