Another busy month of learning has been completed and we look forward to the nicer weather and being able to spend more time using the outdoors as an extension to our learning environment. As we have been experiencing fluctuating temperatures and weather conditions, please support your children in reminding them to dress appropriately and use sunscreen before leaving home to be protect them from the sun’s harmful rays. Hats are encouraged to be worn outside during the warmer temperatures to prevent sunstroke and assist with staying cool. Students should also be refilling their water bottles as needed from our water-filling station. On Wednesday, April 19 th , the whole school celebrated an ECO-Wellness Electives Day. Students had opportunities to take part in a variety of indoor and outdoor activities such as hiking, yoga and mindfulness exercises, enjoying nature-themed books in a serene environment, take part in the preparation of healthy meals, a rigorous Bootcamp, creating stress balls and much more! The day was a great success and enjoyed by all. Earth Day was also recognized and our amazing ECO Team has been busy fundraising for our greening projects at the front of our school by selling sunflower seeds to our Crosby community. Thank you to all families who helped to support this wonderful initiative! During the month of May, we will continue to plan ahead for the new school year. The process of constructing classes is driven by data, both quantitative and qualitative, we use academic, social, and other information about your child when we consider placement for the upcoming school year.
